Why would we do that. We would be giving up saric/1st/2nd just to get off gorgui contract. No thank you

I think that's a fair price to pay to move a horrible contract and bring in a nice big to see how a twin tower system would play out, might have an easier time convincing Robin Lopez to stay in MN then D. Jordan but one of those two would be my preferred return while dumping Dieng to another team.

The Wolves don't have enough talent now, getting rid of contracts isn't going to bring in top tier talent via FA. We need to build through the draft and get lucky. Picks shouldn't be traded unless it's for top tier talent, along with obviously KAT is off the table. Anyone else on the team is tradable for the right deal.

Dieng has 2 years left after this season. You gotta just live with it at this point. He can play some effective minutes at times too so it's not a complete sunk contract...I means it's still a bad one but it's not like he is so bad he basically can't play. In just 1 season he becomes an expiring that could have some utility in making a deal. It's time to move on from the fantasy of getting rid of Dieng and instead find ways to actually improve the team.

Well, we have absolutely no chance of overtaking OKC. They're currently 8 games ahead of us in the standings. So Boston's win tonight does nothing for the Wolves. However, we're still only 3 games behind the 8th place Clippers. So the the Wolves still have a legitimate shot at the 8th or even 7th place, which means the Toronto win was important to the Wolves' playoff hopes. But it's still unlikely the Wolves make the playoffs. There are two teams between the Wolves and the 8th place Clippers. One of those teams, the Kings, are 2 games ahead of the Wolves and show no signs of fading. The other team, the Lakers, email 1.5 games up on the Wolves and LeBron is just getting back after an extended absence with a groin injury.

So I'm more interested in the fact that the Wolves are only a game up on the Mavs and 2 games up on the Pelicans. I'd like to see both teams pass us, which would set the Wolves up for the 10th pick rather than the 12th in the June draft as well as a slightly better chance of getting a top 3 pick.

So unless Covington is back very soon we got almost no shot at the playoffs IMO. Can we get assets for some of these expiring vets? Is J. Teague tradeable? Worst thing this franchise can do is sit around and do nothing, yet that's exactly what I expect :(

It's likely best this team can get by trading vets is 2nd round picks. I value those but it's not like we are passing up getting 1st rounders it something. I think they should deal Tolliver but the return is probably gonna be a 2nd rounder and it may not be a very high one.

You're probably right, Monster. However, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a team out there willing to give us a protected 2019 or 2020 first round pick for Derrick Rose. He can be a difference-maker as a spark off the bench for a contending team down the stretch - a team like the Rockets for example. Yet, I hate to give up Rose. If we can keep him longer term on a very reasonable deal, I'd keep him unless we can get a 1st round or very high 2nd round pick. Even then, I might be inclined to keep him.

I agree that Tolliver is the guy we should definitely trade. But I also agree it's unlikely we get better than a mid-2nd round pick. I'd shop him to the Sixers for Chicago's 2nd round pick, which should be a top 3 in that round. I don't think the Sixers would do that deal, but who knows. I think we could get the Sacramento 2nd rounder from them for Tolliver. But that pick will likely be in the low 40s so it's not a great asset. I'd still do it though.

I'd hate to trade Taj Gibson, but he's a guy who would fetch decent value. He's so solid on both sides of the ball. The only thing he lacks that teams like in a PF is 3-point shooting. But he does everything else well and has actually developed a decent corner three. His skills, reliability, leadership and savvy would make him highly valuable to a contending team down the stretch. He's another guy, like Rose, who I think could possibly fetch a low 1st round or high 2nd round pick.

I would LOVE to deal Teague, but his contract makes him very difficult to deal for any value and combined with his current injury status he's untradeable.
