Now you're gonna get a 5 year and everyone's slurping you saying you're a cornerstone piece even though you haven't put in the work. If you're him, what incentive does he have to make these massive growths in his game? He's been handled with kid gloves this entire time. When Sam Mitchell tried to yell at him, he tuned him out and Sam had to approach him like a bear. I just hope he finds a reason to get better from within because all this team has done since he's been here is effectively "what you've done to date has been awesome" when it hasn't.
Well then he gets dealt for a huge trade package because Butler and Gibson won't put up with that shit. So worst case you get a bunch of assets from a team looking to add a potential all-star talent to their roster and don't have the cap space or market to do so. He has rare scoring numbers for a guy his age. Someone will pony up if it really comes to it, which I firmly believe it won't.
Betting on someone else to relinquish you of your bad decisions is a mistake. We should take all the necessary time before extending Wiggins. Do I want him extended? Yes. Should it happen anytime before it becomes a necessity? No.
