Things Don't Always Happen Overnight

Because I've ripped him in the past, it's only fair to comment on how well Nik Stauskas is playing for Portland so far this year. All of his numbers are up over his career averages and he's carrying an effective FG% of 56.7.

i have a couple thoughts on this: 1) Why can't we ever find a guy like Nik who can come in and blossom as a shooter on our team? 2) Maybe Cam had this guy pegged right, it just took the right situation and timing for things to work out.

All I know is he would look really good in a Wolves uniform right now.

Portland screwed up in signing some guys to big deals but the last couple years they have been terrific in finding some guys and getting more out of them. They let's some guys go and stick with a couple players added a guy like Stuaskus and...once again they prove should to get the benefit of the doubt on those types of moves.

It's not the only reason but part of the reason we don't get some of these guys or make them into something is we are changing coaches etc every couple years. These types of moves are what you need to be able to do to become a good team not just for a year but beyond. You don't have to hit on all of them either.

Haha. Yeah it seems like the wolves have never been the right situation. Poor JR Rider just needed someone to believe in him.
