Belly is on fire

Post by KG4Ever »

Have you seen how well Belly has been playing? His shooting percentages are ridiculous and he's contributing in all categories. Getting out of the toxic Thibs environment has done wonders for his game. I always liked Belly's game and felt he never got much opportunity with Thibs. So far, he may be the best bargain signing in free agency and we couldn't find room for him and instead signed the fossil Tolliver.

Rubio, wiggs, bjelly, dieng, and kat looked great together when zach went down. We were much better across the board, it's unfortunate we didn't give that group a longer leash.

Outside of bazz, most of the ex wolves look better now than when they were here. Dunn is constantly injured, so still tough to know what's there.

The Thibs environment truly is toxic. I feel his negative vibe from 12 rows behind him in the arena. I can only imagine what it feels like to players who have to work with and listen to him every day in very close proximity.

Watching the Lakers last night against the Nuggets was a treat. The positive vibe from Walton permeates the entire team. They all play with great joy and passion.

Small sample size. To be fair I haven't watched him play this year. He had runs like this with the wolves. But usually ended with injury then going ice cold and losing confidence.

...but everything is up for him, not just his shooting. Blocks, steals, rebounds, assists. We'll see if he can maintain those other facets of the game once his shooting cools off, but there is no question he has been a major contributor to the Kings relatively solid start to the year.

Argh!!!

I like Tolliver because he has a great attitude and he is a true volume 3 shooter not afraid to let 'em fly even with a guy in his face. We desperately need that on our squad. He is the least of our problems.

Still....it's pretty telling to see Bjelica play with this kind of confidence and production. FIRE THIBS!!!

Belly has an an excellent contract, I will give him that. Lets see how he is doing in a few months. Now after we trade Butler, if we create some cap space with the trade, we should look at signing Belly's younger super twin in Mirotic. That guy has been on fire that past year, and would be a good fit on the court.

Good for him for playing well.

Fun stat: Belly is on fire and guess how many 3's per 36 minutes he is taking? Same as last year.

Fair point, monster. But I would argue that his confidence is at a totally different level this year, and I attribute that to getting a way from Thibodeau. I loved Belly as a player in Europe and always thought he could play like that here...if he just had the right coach.

Just as another counterpoint if he is playing so awesome why in the world is the guy only averaging 26mpg?
