Jamal Crawford Signed

Post by mjs34 »

Looks like Jamal signed for the minimum with Phoenix. That means he took a pay-cut of 2 mil to get out of Minny. Not a good look for us, although it will likely go unnoticed with the Butler saga still going on. I will be interested to see how many minutes he gets, since that seemed to be an issue with him.

Yeah, his exit was a damning indictment against Thibs and the organization as a whole. On the other hand, he was a liability (at least on the floor - sounds like he's a good dude otherwise).

The good news is this makes one of our Western Conference foes even worse!

Jamal found his "fit" apparently. This seems like another sign that team might go further in on winning sooner rather than later. It will be interesting what kind of role he ends up with and what kind of success it brings.

I like it when people point out that the Wolves went 10 - 13 without Butler... but don't mention that it meant Jamal Crawford was getting 25 - 28 mpg during that stretch to partly cover for Butler's absence.

Sorry to threadjack here, but in other signings, Smiling Wes signs with New Orleans. Lip, do you wish Thibs would have signed him?

Another missed opportunity for the Wolves. Did Thibs know Wes was on the trading block? If so, did he at least check to see of LA was interesting in swapping Wes for Jimmy? If not, then that alone is a basis for firing Thibodeau. :)
