Rose's Line looks bad with the 4-16 and he didn't get the memo about not challenging McGee (that guy was really shuting them down at the rim) but he also had 7 assists and 7 rebounds and again keeps playing with a lot of effort and energy. He was a +2. I'd like to have seen Okogie get a little run there towards the end but I also can see playing a vet like Rose down the stretch of a close game over a 20 year old rookie and I'm about as high on Okogie as anyone here. Rose was a mixed bag again but he gives you something and like Dane more and his guys from Zone coverage mention he is invested in this team. He really seems to care. What Tose is giving this team this season is honestly a positive for Thibs overall especially considering he pace Rose infuses.

Rose... what a mixed bag.

Yes. You have to appreciate guys who play hard. But why not play hard... and smart?

He can be incredibly frustrating to watch. At one point, he'd taken 14 shots in 18 minutes. Even Jamal Crawford would blush...

Good points. I'll take Rose's D over what Crawford gave most night though. One other thing is Rose after this game will be back to averaging at least 5 assists a game. He has played more than Crawford did but he is clearly creating more for guys than Jamal. The Wolves have 3 of the top 16 guys in assist to TO ratio so far. As for the smart part...I don't think Rose or some other Wolves really thought McGee was really THAT much of a factor at the rim early on. Oops. I thought Jim Peterson was gonna get out of his spot and take the ball away from one of the Wolves players going up in a crowd. Lol

Monster...

But Rose is leading the team in shots per 36 min... and tied for the lead in Usage %.

That simply cannot happen on a team with Jimmy Butler and KAT. It's just not smart.

It is still probably smarter than Crawford and Wiggins having higher usage rate than KAT last year.

Yes. True. Very true.

For the record, Wiggins is tied with Rose and KAT for the team lead as well. And he's 2nd behind only Rose in shots per 36.

I'm sure it's all part of the plan though to have the two guys with the biggest blinders... who are also historically... your most inefficient shooters... to handle the ball the most and take the most shots.

I'm not against Rose being used throughout the game for energy and effort. I agree he brings more positive than negatives (at this point) in the season. However, while he didn't make a damning mistake (almost with the near foul on Lebron), he was lackluster, especially in the last 3 or 4 minutes. Okogie to that point had been electric and great on the defensive side of the ball, making hustle plays as well. Basically in this game Okogie was bringing energy the same way Rose does, but with better results. It's not a huge thing but was getting on my nerves. Thankfully we won

And that's just more evidence of why Thibodeau needs to go. There, now I feel better!
