For the good of the franchise, something like this probably needed to happen.

There are toxic pieces within the organization and changes that need to be made. Glen Taylor, Tom Thibodeau, Scott Layden, and Andrew Wiggins -- perhaps even Karl-Anthony Towns, though his talent, youth, and All-NBA production (most importantly) give him more leeway --all need to go for one reason or another. None of them are good for the franchise at this point.

I never really liked soap operas. And now here we are: "As the Wolf Turns..."

On the Raised by Wolves podcast where Manny and Judd had Wolfson on thier show they had a similar opener...which was pretty funny. Its actually a pretty good listen...although pretty damning as well. There are some funny moments though to lighten the mood.

What's really going on is that Glen is running this franchise into the ground. There is no recovery from this as long as Glen is the owner. I suspect Glen is working on firing Thibs and that is why practice was cancelled. Thibs would never cancel a practice by his own will. Moving forward who in their right mind would want to work in this situation? If Glen really cares about basketball in Minnesota he needs to sell now. So depressing. This whole thing could not have gone any worse.

I know there are a number of you that can't stand Wiggins, and your reasons are his declining performance, which is fair.

Wiggins under Thibs has declined. He's been allowed to develop bad habits, he's not invited to participate in the offense. He doesn't push at all in transition.

The problem here, is that Wiggins has an incredible amount of talent. He's a tremendous athlete, and in spite of what the national media says, he plays damn good team and individual defense most of the time (at the games last season Jimmy barked at everyone on D, almost never Wiggins, he's where they are asking him to be, and I would still argue that he was our greatest defensive asset in the playoffs last year with Jimmy's injury and analytics will back me on that -)

You can't throw out Wiggins because coaching can't figure out how to use him. People don't lose motivation for no reason. He has to be accountable, but so does coaching/management for not being creative or professional enough to figure out that he can go over just about anyone. Why he isn't getting 8 points/game in transition is beyond me. He either needs to be rebounding, or getting out in transition, pick one. arghh.

If all this drama and bullshit could be fixed just by trading Towns do you do it? Or do you blow up everything around Towns and only keep him? That seems to be the direction we are going.

Option A - Towns is traded to PHX to play with his buddy Booker for Ayton and filler.

Option B - trade everyone else you can for picks, guys leave in free agency and Towns is the centerpiece around guys like Okogie and the other lottery picks we get.

Which do you choose?

I didn't even see him back there. Good catch. I don't know which is worse now. Him not being in the picture at all or clearly relegated to the background.

Option A Interesting idea. But this is fully under the idea that Glen and Thibs are running in lockstep. Which is why I think it is impossible. Something closer to option B seems the more likely scenario. But both are going to involve a time of losing again, which may mean further discontent.

Either option doesn't get rid of Glen. People need to start sending beautiful women into Glen's office with Dictaphones ASAP. He'd probably be too boring to hit on them though.
