I know Wiggins bashing has reached "dead horse bashing" level, but since I haven't been a participant, I'm going to vent a little. It looks like this will be his 4th consecutive horrible game. So far he is shooting 12-33 in preseason and has 1 (one) assist. Those are not the numbers of a max contract guy...more like a journeyman. Since he seemed to have his best games last year when Butler was out, I was holding on to some Wig optimism for this season...but it's evaporating rapidly. His preseason play is the worst we have seen from him, at least on the offensive side of the ball.

Hes been bad on offense so far. The good news is that he isnt taking alot of shots and is basically the 4th option on the floor.

His defense does look improved though.

Going by the boxscore, defense struggled again.

Starters or the bench, the results are the same. Third might be more than just a player issue.

I didn't watch the game and I'm glad. The box score says it all. Another blow-out preseason loss. Wiggins showed improvement tonight, going from 4 points and 4 fouls last game to 6 points and 2 fouls this game. Teague shot 30% from the field tonight. Honestly the final stats tell us the obvious. Towns stepped up with 33 points and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes. Okogie only hit 1 of 7 shots from the field, but he had 8 rebounds along with 1 steal, 1 block and 0 turnovers. If he can ever become a reliable shooter, he could be a star. But for now at least he's productive in the do-shit categories.

Tonight's stats tell us what we already know. As a team the Wolves are in a terrible funk. Individually, KAT is the only player who is even close to elite. That simply means it's time to tear this thing down and rebuild around KAT. But again, we already knew that.

So let's finally get rid of Thibodeau and Layden. Let's move Butler and focus on getting the best array of young players with potential and draft picks in return. Trying to deal Butler for players likely to help us this season would be a waste. It's not about this season. It's about developing a contending team around KAT over the next 4-5 years. And let's hope we end up with a high lottery pick next summer. This is going to be a long season.

I agree, Cool. Glen has to move on. I don't know what's left on Thibodeau's contract, but it can't be more than another $10 million. That's less than 10% of the player payroll in one season. It's an even smaller percentage of the total Timberwolves operations budget over just one year. It seems penny wise and pound foolish to keep Thibodeau around given the current pathetic state of the team and Thibodeau's central role in shaping the current state of this team. Even if you don't hold him accountable for the state of the team, it should be obvious to anyone with an ounce of sense that he's not the guy to take us forward. But truth is, Thibodeau wanted to control the organization completely as PBO and head coach. Total control carries with it total responsibility and accountability. The team is in a terrible state he has to be held accountable. Moreover, the negativity the eminates from him is palpable and has to be removed from this organization as soon as possible. He's not going to coach this team into the playoffs and the team won't develop or improve under his coaching.

Glen has sat back and watched many GMs do way worse to this franchise. To think you're going to get a logical business decision from that idiot is a pipe dream. Glen sucks and whoever replaces Thibs is going to be a lot worse. Now Glen is going to say "look how much money I spent on a big name to run the team and this is what happened." Just liked he said paying the luxury tax was a mistake after he did it one time. The guy sucks and that is why the team sucks.

If Glen didn't prepare for this in coordination with Thibs as a real possibility then the blame rests on him. Otherwise we are left to assume that Glen and Thibs knew this was a possibility and this is their "coordinated" ridiculous response to it.
