Rachel Nichols was on Zach Lowe talking about her "interview". She is such an ass kiss. An important point that Zach Lowe points out is that we were not even able to up Jimmy's salary the summer we signed Teague and Taj. Under the CBA that couldn't have happened until the 3rd anniversary. So basically Jimmy wanted us to gut the team this summer for his money. Can't wait to get rid of this idiot fast enough. I'm really not enjoying him on the team. I really hate not wanting to see a member of the team I root for succeed. But it's to the point where he's so distasteful to me. Plus it really does seem like it may be affecting Towns, subconsciously or not.

He's a phony and let's be honest, he's just not the brightest bulb in the tanning bed. He and Thibs combined to ruin yet another rebuild. And what sucks is this one actually had some promise.

That is reason enough not to dump him. He can't get 5/190 if he walks away. More like 4/140. I can handle another year of rebuild if we cost him 50 mil

Yeah I waited as long as possible to want Thibs out, but I'm ready to join the chorus. It's sad, ultimately to me there is no justification whatsoever to give Jimmy 25 shots right now when KAT is on your team. Just from a pure basketball analysis it's bad, but then add the favoritism and the lack of inspiration and it's just depressing.

Haha. That's cold, but yes. I don't think I could handle that with Thibs at the helm. The impact on KAT is really troubling to me. Here's a kid that has been enthusiastic and positive who looks depressed as hell now, something has got to change for his sake.

I'm as big of a Towns fan as there is, but this whole situation with Butler makes me view Towns in a different way. He's being a soft little boy. Great players can play with each other successfully regardless of if they like each other or not. Towns having a poor attitude or looking depressed shows immaturity on his end. Be a professional. Use your premium-level talent and ball out. Moping around and looking sad all the time is just weak as hell.

Ok so Butler wasn't eligible for that renegotiation last year. So listening to this to renegotiate this offseason the Wolves would have had to do 1 year deals that offseason (Wiggins money doesn't matter much because of his high cap hold) and then have the open space to renegotiate. So instead of signing Teague and Taj to multiyear deals they would have offered players or player a 1 year deal. That's an interesting thing to mull over. Other teams have done the same thing like Philly and the Lakers. It's still weird to me that Jimmy is that upset about that and he wouldn't want to wait another few months to get paid and ask out after just a few months. I mean I get some of it but it's also just weird especially when his guy Thibs runs everything.

I thought Nichols brought up a good point about the dynamics of players and front offices having to buy in AND also have business decisions. Its one of the reasons sports has waned a bit more for me. It has become even more about how the salary of the player as opposed to what they actually bring on the court. It's kinda fun to calculate the numbers and stuff but it certainly steals some of the joy of it all. Imagine how players and coaches and even GMs feel at times.

I was watching Jimmy's post game interview and he still seems really tight with thibs and buddy buddy with the players on the team. During the presser he mentioned that the media doesn't know the whole story.

Could it simply be Taylor refusing to give Butler the max deal next year (don't think this angle was ever mentioned as a possibility) ? And that's why he's so easily open in facilitating a butler deal? And maybe why butler feels that Taylor wasn't up front with him and constantly brings up being honest?
