Teague stays in the starting lineup because he doesn't turn the ball over. That's really been a strength of our team during the Thibs era. We don't hand the ball over to other teams trying to make flashy plays. We're 6th in turnovers in the league and all our PG's are near the top in terms of turnovers and assist to turnover ratio. We protect the ball. Conley is really the only PG better than him in that stat for the guys getting top minutes at the position who also run their offense and Teague is top 5 in the NBA in assists per game. Assist to turnover has him behind Conley and Lowry and that's pretty much it (Collison is in there too, but he's not really dishing the ball out at the same level as Teague as he's 2.5 assists per game behind him). So I would really say that's the one thing he's actually great at. It looks like he's killing us at times, but even when he's bad he's actually not killing us because he just protects the ball at a bare minimum. That matters for something.
