Except for Andrew Wiggins. :)

1. Right for the Wrong Reasons
His reason for saying we have shitty fans is because he got booed, and I completely disagree. The booing isn't exactly classy, but it was arguably coming from a good place. Those fans who booed were disappointed because they have expectations that the team performs well, which is what good fans want. The fans should expect better than what he's given us, especially from a guy who insisted he was a max player and got a max contract.
Now, if you watch enough games and if you've attended games in other arenas enough, you know that if the attendance and energy of your home crowd is a measure of your fanbase, the Wolves DO have shitty fans. Admit it. We have one of the lowest attendance rates in the NBA. Check the stats using the link below. We've been in the bottom third for the last 6 seasons (actually, we've only cracked that once in 13 years) and we've been 29th on average for the last 4 or 5 seasons.

Partly but not entirely as a result, our fans in the arena are definitely more quiet than the average NBA home crowd. I don't doubt the energy that those of you who attend bring, and it must be said that as far as the old ESPN boards were a measuring stick, the Wolves board always had some of the highest traffic, so we clearly have a core base of dedicated online fans like all of us (who apparently have a lot of time on our hands!). But the Target Center most game nights is quiet as hell. Just listen to the crowds in Toronto, Chicago, Philly, OKC, or at Oracle or in Portland or Boston, hell even Sacramento, Utah, or Milwaukee. We can't even compare to those crowds.
2. Right at the Wrong Time
Arguably, there is NO time when a player should call out their own fans. That should always be somebody else's job because it's the fastest way to get your own fans to turn on you, which is about the worst thing that can happen to a sports team. However, there are some particularly BAD times to call out your fans. And right up there has to be immediately after you blow a bunch of free throws that cost your team what should be an easy win. The guy's clearly an idiot.

Wiggs was in the wrong and he probably knows he shouldnt have said that because people were going to view it negatively regardless of intent. But, the hate he receives from minny fans is pretty rampant. No other player on this team (that i know of) gets constant hate or even threats against him or his family. or even threats against him or his family. Wiggs reads it, so does his teamates, and his family. Hes got a bullseye on his back and fans will continue to go after him.
As a fan, criticizing their play is fair game. When things get so personal that you criticize the person, i thinks time to take a breather.
Booing is also fair game. People pay and they have the right to show their displeasure. But, booing your own player at the ft line?
Support the team when they play because ultimately we want to see them win. After the game, criticize ownership, management, players, or whatever floats your boat.

Wait...Wiggins gets threats against him and his family? I haven't heard or seen that anywhere.
