I don't want that to happen. I am fine with Saric playing more minutes but nobody move in that 2nd unit if saric is not there.

It will be just watching rose go one on one but with even less space with Taj in there

I agree with you. It's a tough spot, and a roster construction issue. My larger point was Belly was such an underutilized player for us. Part was on him but I screamed it last year it's tough playing when you feel like you're gonna be pulled for missing a shot. I felt he was a great fit next to Kat.

I'd play Taj as a the 2nd unit 5, and play small. Have Okogie in the lineup, with RoCo, you obviously have to stager the lineups a bit. His rotations are so jacked right now. Seriously this road trip Saric has been on the court for like 18 minute stretches. That's coaching malpractice.

Don't disagree with you there. He has played rose in huge stretches also. I'm ready for thibs to be gone. I think he is a middle of the pack coach. It could get worse without thibs but I am willing to gamble. There has to be a good run coaching mind somewhere

He went after teague as the pg necessary to run the offense.
Rose is his former mvp and knows the offense.
Tyus was promised more minutes when he asked for a trade.
Now thibs is too loyal to those guys to make any changes.
Teams are just exploiting our pg heavy line ups by just muscling by them or just shooting over them.

I don't want to overreact to the 2 PG lineup thing. We are -.3 pts per 100 possessions with lineups with Teague and rose (one of the best offensive combos in the league and one of the worst defensive teams)

We are +2.4 pts per 100 possessions with tyus and rose (bad offensively and elite defensively).

Once again so many factors go into that though

It is clear to everyone here that Thibs needs to go I think. His lineup combinations are terrible. I would move Saric to the starting lineup and eliminate the two point guard thing immediately. Teague is also a terrible fit with the starters. Trade him or put him with the second unit I guess although then you're back to two point guards. Play Okogie, he's good. Here's another idea...have a little creativity and adjust your lineup combinations based on matchups and guys energy levels on a given night.

My guess is not many people here disagree with the things I'm saying because they are totally obvious. So when is Thibs actually going to get fired? And which assistant would take over? Mini flip?

When they are going well, that's fine. But when they arent, you need to be flexible enough to change things up to help the players out; not maintain staus quo and just hope things work out.

I actually think the Kings are a good team. And what can you do when a team is on fire like that? Ridiculous how well they shot the 3....

The West is a freakin' monster. Literally there is one bad team. Everyone else is good, great, or elite.

Fun game I have some friends that had free tickets to the game and said they were a few rows up behind the Wolves bench. I tried o look for them while watching the game but not sure so saw them or not. They got to see a fun basketball game that's for sure. That's how I saw this game a fun game between some teams with plenty of talent on either side and the Kings played better. We will get them the next one. :)

Went back to watch the last 2 games to focus on cov. He is clearly hurt. It looks alot like what wiggins was going through since his return from injury.

Cov still moves well laterally, but doesnt have the same burst vertically. Hes having a tough time finishing at the rim (notice how his lay ups look more like floaters) and his jumpers have an inconsistent trajectory. For wiggs it was his quad, for cov its the knee. I don't know whats happening among the players, medical staff, and thibbs, but they need to get on the same page.

Thats the 3rd guy now who shouldn't have come back as early as they should have.

One difference with the Kings is they have a good bench. We have kinda gotten used to the Wolves bench doing some work onnother teams even good ones. King's counter with guys like Bagely Boogie Koufus Ferrell. I still don't know if they keep it up all year but there is some depth to that roster that some teams don't have.

A couple of thoughts:

- The Kings have scored at least 28 points in every quarter vs. the Timberwolves this season (8 ). It should be no surprise that they won both games easily... by NBA standards.

- As noted... there's been reasons to go with the two PG set up. Especially with the second unit. Without Jones out there willingly getting others involved by playing "hot potato"... it's only Rose creating and shooting... and occasionally passing. A lot of teams are employing the two PG angle in today's game. And it makes sense if the team can compete defensively.

- It's officially dispiriting to know that lowly inept Sacramento has a better short- and long-term future than the Wolves.

- The Wolves are back in 13th place in the West. There's only one gimme win in the entire conference. (And no gimme wins for the Wolves on the road)

I discovered more stats... but I'm dedicated those to another thread entirely, because they're more of a trend that go beyond just last night's game...
