What a horrible pick Thibs. Oof. Even if healthy, he was not going to help our defensive woes based on what I saw of him last year.

After listening to the Dunc'd on guys it made more sense to decline. Who is gonna pay him more than 3 million next year coming off 2 foot injuries and likely basically never played in the NBA? The Wolves could bring him back cheap next year if they want to and he sees an opportunity.

Next we wait to see what the Rockets do with Chriss.

Patton becoming useful is unlikely but Kevon Loney is a guy that is comparable story. He had surgeries on both hips in the first year of his career and had a team option declined and last summer returned to the team. I think it's possible with the declined option then IF...Patton is healthy and intruiging they bring him back for a vet min deal which would be only a few hundred thousand less than the 3.1 million they declined but also costs about half the money towards the cap. If he isn't healthy and or looks like crap...good thing you declined it. If someone else signs him...sign another young talented guy from the D-league or whatever. I would t be surprised if he was on the roster a year from not but I would not put the chances as super high obviously.

Was Donovan Mitchell drafted after him or was that a different year?
