You need to do what boston did and get assets. We got a guy who will leave after next year and covington who will be ok but in all reality this team is going nowhere. NOWHERE. Its been a long time since i have been this unexcited about a wolves team. Is the plan for thibs to be able to get some wins here and there or for us to actually build a contender. Disappointing is the word.

Leave next year? Why are you so concerned about bayless?

How many on this Board think the Wolves will make the playoffs this season following this trade? I'll put myself out there right now and say the Wolves absolutely will NOT make the playoffs this season. So what has this organization accomplished by adding Covington and Saric? Certainly nothing this season. But Covington isn't going to get better. And I'm not sure about Saric. We have no additional draft picks. And we still have Thibodeau as head coach and PBO.

Two plus months ago many wolves fans here posted about holding out for Covington and Saric/Fultz, and that it would be a coup if done.

But now that it has happened, people are upset?!?

I was all for the 4 firsts from Houston, but this is also a great deal for us.

Got news for you.

We were not going to make the playoffs with a team that wanted nothing to do with each other either ...

I never expected to get Fultz and I never advocated for holding out to get Saric. The best deal with Philly, in my view, would have been Butler for Covington, Muscala, the Chicago and Sacramento 2019 second rounders, and Miami's unprotected 2021 first round pick. That would have been a more forward-looking deal with total salary relief other than Covington's salary. The way Saric has been playing so far this season is troubling. And he has only one year left on his deal after this season. Covington has no upside and the Wolves have not additional meaningful draft picks so show for this deal. That's why I'm upset.

Do you think we would have made the playoffs this year with richardson?

Roco gives us size at the wing spot and much better rebounding. He will also be able to help more in the paint. Okogie is our 3rd wing and hes got the handles you want. We don't know what he will become, but a 3 wing rotation of wiggs, roco, and okogie is pretty good.

Roco is also locked into a longer team friendly contract.

Everything is dependant on kat and i think roco is a better support wing for him than richardson.

This team hitched itself to Towns and Wiggins. Their salaries dictated that. None of the other rumored deals was going to change that. Our only hope now is that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Probably need to dump Thibs to see it though.

Well you have no idea if those draft picks were actually available.

The trade is "fine"... too bad Butler + thibs + Taylor waited until the season was screwed to do it though.

The one negative I see is that a team with questionable ball movement really didn't get anything back on that end. Covington can't create for himself or others. Saric isn't creating off the dribble. Wiggins is terrible passing the ball. Teague is meh. KAT is a center. There's very few guys on the squad to break down a defense.

So I expect the offense to be a bit of a slog.

Just heard about this, and while I don't think the overall talent coming in is bad, I don't think it is a fit. As others have stated we needed a ball handler/penetrater next to Wiggins. We also needed a defensive athletic big next to KAT. We got neither and no first round pick. Honestly don't know why this was approved by taylor.
