It seems like Thibs reverted to the old Thibs who can't trust his reserves...too bad, because he hadn't done that much this year. Yes, the bench played poorly, but then again as I have pointed out, reserves always do when they aren't given enough minutes. And of course the other old pattern happened again last night, with tired starters not able to run down loose balls, make shots, or defend against a more rested team. Come on Thibs...look at your own box scores and learn.
This board seems to be letting Butler's unattractive personality get in the way of objectively talking about his performance. I read through the thread and assumed that he must not have been very good tonight, but then I see that he went an efficient 24-5-5 with 3 steals...not a bad night. Butler may be a jackass, but he is having a terrific season. 22-5-4 with almost 2 1/2 steals per game, and a (by far) team-leading PER of 24.5. Yes, he has to go, but let's acknowledge what he is doing while he is here.
I think a lot of it is he is giving no F on defense. There was so many possessions last night where he just didn't try at all.
Ya he is putting up good numbers but he is killing the flow of the game. We had numerous no pass possessions when he was on the court.
At the end of the game he was also snipping at KAT again.
He is a damn good player no doubt but I think it says something that butler has the worst net rating on the team this year going into last night (might still have it just haven't looked yet)
