Any deal with the Miami Heat needs to involve getting Richardson, Adebayo and their 2019 1st round pick. If we want to attached Dieng then we would have take back on of their bad contracts back to make salaries match. I'm not a fan of Waiters, Olynyk, Whiteside or Tyler Johnson and I doubt Dragic will be included. James Johnson is a versatile rotation player, but his contract is pretty much the same as Diengs. If I was to pick one out of the above I'd (reluctantly) pick Tyler Johnson as he fits the needs as a wing and is a better 3pt shooter than Waiters. Although he's incredibly over paid (18mil) compared to Waiters (11mil), it's only for two more years and after this season that contract would look pretty good for a team wanting to shed cap space at the trade deadline.

I'd prefer Lips deal of a straight swap of Butler for Richardson, Adebayo, Winslow and their 1st. Not need to involve Dieng for the sake of shedding his contract while taking on one of their bad ones, especially when Diengs value is down due to be under utilised last season.

Yes I am aware of that Duke. But he is also injury prone and 31 years old. I would prefer acquiring him than Tyler Johnson, but I don't think the Heat would do it.

T.Johnson has a 3.2 mil trade kicker in his contract. Can't believe miami matched that. So no. He is not ever an option at 22 mil, IMO.

They also are not going to include both their promising wings or BAM the successor to the phased out Whiteside. It is one of Winslow or j rich, and I prefer j rich by a mile due to an already semi consistent offensive game, equal or better defense, and being locked into a contract already. Then dragic (here or elsewhere) and picks/any filler.

I prefer my trade just above. You have 5 wings locked in at 50 ish mil in a league that is dominated by wing players (Wiggins, jrich, Warren, okogie, KBD), and have to fill the of position next year and the pg position in 2 years (highly doubt teague opts out) with 25 -30ish mil depending on cap raise and 2 first round picks.

That is 5 wings that none can shoot 3s.

Also still think there is a good shot Teague opts out. Teams have cap space this offseason and next offseason the money will be dried up again. So Teague might want one last decent paycheck

Hes not getting 20 mill per year from another team if he opts out. Only reason he would leave is because he's also grown tired of this organization.

We'll see. He probably can opt out and get a 3 year 14 mil a year deal from some time, if not more because Rubio and Kemba are the only 2 other PGs on the market or he can opt in game the 19 mil and look at a 3 year 8 to 9 mil a year contract because teams don't have as much cap space in 2020

Yeah, Teague is one of the guys that could weigh our cap space down if he opts in, but Kek makes a good point that while he probably won't get a $20M/year deal, he may be at the stage in his career that he is more interested in a longer contract. A good team that already has a couple stars locked in may just need an average starting vet PG like Teague.

As you said, Teague is an average PG and there's no upside in his game at his age. So I don't see any team paying Teague more than around $8M per year on a multi-year deal. At that amount, it would take almost three contract years to equal the $19 million he's owed next year under his current contract. Then consider the time value of money. If I were his agent, I'd strongly advise Teague not to opt out. He can always get a multi-year $5-8 million per year deal the following season and he'd already have $19 million in the bank. The only way I see him even considering opting out is if we don't play him this season to the point where he opts out in frustration next summer.
