Wiggins . . . Different Take
Wiggins . . . Different Take
I'm ready for the ridicule.
I believe we will see Wiggins get back north of 22 points per game this season. I also believe we will see career highs in assists.
This board acts like Wiggins has been an anchor on the team, and while I agree his production in the 4th and 5th years of his career have been disappointing, no one watching can deny that there were dramatic changes in the how, when, and where he recieved the ball during the Thibs era.
He is still supremely gifted, and was coachable, but his coach was asking him (and others) to play roles and do things players from his past had done. Not good.
I had stated on an earlier thread that I was willing to take a dinner out bet on Wiggins averaging greater than 21.5 by 12.10 . . . still willing to take that bet.

Points don't matter, efficiency matters. I don't care if he scores 25 PPG if it's on 35% shooting.

Re: Wiggins . . . Different Take
Saw this on reddit:
Only 2 players in NBA history have outscored bron in h2h match ups.
The first is Durant and the other is ....
Over the course of nine games Wiggins is averaging 26.9 points on 54.8/48.1/76.1 (65.2 TS%) to Lebron's 24.6 points on 60.5/45.5/57.5 (67.4 TS%)
I wonder if its more of a Paul George or westbrook thing rather than a OKC thing for wiggs.
Its all in the head for wiggs. If he/his team doesnt find a way to unlock himself/him, then he'll be playing for min. level contracts the rest of his career or in europe like his dad. If he finally realizes what he can be, then he'll be an all star.
Im just not sure its going to be here, but I love that Rosas brought in developmental guys to at least try.

As KG said, when you piss him off he's unstoppable. That's a heart issue, not a head issue, and that's why I don't believe it'll ever be resolved.

You'd think the fans booing him would make him angry to go and kick ass, but I suppose it would be giving the fans what they want. Didn't he say they should shut up or something. I forget.
He just doesn't have the motivation, he's essentially the antithesis to a Russell Westbrook or Michael Jordan. If he doesn't want that SAB moniker forever maybe he should give some effort.

The truth is if he was playing next to KG at Towns age he wouldn't have a problem being motivated. I think we need someone to hang shit in his locker before each that says that whoever is the best player on that team thinks Wiggins is a chump. Even if we have to fabricate it.
Re: Wiggins . . . Different Take
He'll prolly belongs on the Spurs squad backing up two guys who's trajectory he can only hope for. DeRozan and Gay.

Motivation has to come from within. Butler probably rode him constantly behind the scenes. Heck Butler even shamed Wiggins publicly. Maybe there's a flame burning somewhere deep in Wiggins. I hope so.

Wiggins could eat a gallon of baked beans and still be incapable of lighting a fart.
