Pooping in Portland - Wolves at Blazers GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

Not expecting much...

This was supposed to be the Wolves chance to make one last push make things interesting. But the Laker loss last night put the kibosh on that. Now all we have to look forward to is 1) can Rubio continue being an offensive threat, 2) can Wiggins and KAT make strides at making other players better, and 3) can Dunn keep building on his recent improved play. That's all I got.

The first have was kind of mix of poop and diarrhea. I suspect the 2nd half will be nothing but the runs...

Wiggins game is so much more suited to being a 6th man. He just doesn't do the stuff you need to do to justify being a starter. At least on a good team...

I guess I'll be the other guy to admit I'm watching the game. But just turned it off. They are mailing it in.

One observation: Rush is completely worthless. Why he is still starting or playing at all is baffling. Thibs just needs to give those minutes to Dunn and Bazz. Might as well start Dunn, nothing to lose and he needs the minutes.

After this game, our defensive field goal percentage will be worse than even last year.

His shooting has sucked since the all star break. If he's not shooting efficiently, he is not helping the team. He needs to improve in so many areas. Really expected Thibs to be able to develop Thibs and KAT's game much more than he has.

Wiggins is gonna get his max deal, so I'm not gonna fight it, but man it's gonna suck to reward a guy who quite frankly isn't putting the work in and I fear he never will because playing half-assed has gotten him to this point.

0 rebounds for a guy who is 6'8''. Just an F at all things intangibles

Oddly enough Wiggins kind of reminds me of Rubio in a way. Rubio grew up playing the game only one way: pass first, second and third. Until recently that mind set was dragging him down. All of a sudden he is looking to score and is shooting the ball with more confidence.

Wiggins has grown up dominating offensively because he is so incredibly athletic. The game has always been easy for him. He never had to create for others because he could just do it himself. Now he's finally at a level where just gliding around the court and scoring 20 to 25 points isn't enough. He played 32 minutes tonight and had 0 boards. How in the hell does the most athletic player on the floor get 0 rebounds? And only 2 assists. Combine that with another mediocre shooting night and you need to look no further to why we got blown out tonight.

The bottom line is Wiggins is a good player that any team would love to have. But at this point it's hard to see greatness there. But as WW said, he is going to get paid the max. Either by us or some other team. Hopefully at some point he'll become a more well rounded player that deserves max money.

Best GDT title ever. Inspired.

As for Wigs, he is worn out, period. The lad needs to get stronger.

I think we need to accept the fact that he is a volume scorer and not much else. Folks can hope he'll get better at other things, but until he proves it night and night out, the front office has to go into the offseason assuming otherwise.

So, if you accept the fact he's a pure scorer, you put him at SG and find a SF that defends, hustles, rebounds, chases loose balls, and hopefully can hit the open 3. Let Wiggins be DeMar DeRozan because that's where he's headed right now.

As for Thibs, he has to be disappointed in himself and his team. He brings what is considered the best defensive coaching chops in the NBA and we barely move the needle over the last two years of pathetic defense. Very depressing.
