Latest Woj bomb

"Denver has waived forward Alonzo Gee."

I know he can't shoot the 3 well but I've always liked Gee. He is one of those guys that always seems to play hard and knows how to play well enough to be a legit enough NBA bench player. You could do worse than having him on a roster imo.

7.2 / 5.4 / 1.6 ...

... and that's Per 36 minutes. He's about as irrelevant as it gets.

I don't know about Gee in particular, but it would be wise IMO if the Wolves picked up a bench wing soon. Right now Thibs is overplaying Wigs & LaVine because he doesn't really trust any wings on the bench.

I've touched on this in the other thread but as I see it great teams and organizations are greedy for talent. Half of that is drafting and half is $$$. It takes a lot of talent on your team to win in the NBA. A big 3 may not even be enough. We always have to be positioning for more talent any way we can get it. Real, juicy, top end talent. We are throwing away money still in a lot of areas of our roster. Would love to see it go to use either now with a strategic trade (Dragic) or in Free agency. Ibaka, Milsap,Hayward,
or even B level Galinari, Bogut

This topic [of adding meaningful talent while we can] is one that we have agreed on in the past and we continue to be on the same page. As soon as LaVine and Wiggins lock in those new contracts, the opportunity to make a splash like that is as good as gone unless we were to get extremely lucky whether it be via draft or finding a diamond in the rough. The chances of that are minuscule.

Which is why I point to the Iggy signing for Golden State as such a great move at the time. No way they get him a year later than that without giving up some of their talent in return.

For those that have interest in anole either as a target for the Wolves or just interested in him as an NBA player this is an interesting listen. I particularly liked later in the podcast when he takes about his family and how he grew up and was influenced by his parents and siblings and some about his personality.

Looks like Portland is starting to hit their stride. Damon is back healthy and the team is starting to more resemble the group we saw last year. I expect the wins to keep coming for them and they will easily put the 8th playoff spot out of reach.

Perhaps. I had them as a top-five seed before the season so their record is quit a surprise to me. Lillard has played in the majority of their games, though. Their problem from my view is defense. I don't see that going away any time soon. And we're just 4.0 GB with 43 left to play. I won't say that we catch them, but I also won't say that it's a slam dunk that Portland holds on to that spot either.

I believe this is about the same time of year that Portland took off last season...
