2016-2017 around the league thread
Re: 2016-2017 around the league thread
I just finished watching a couple condensed games on my free week of league pass broadband. Both games were Bucks games here are some thoughts.
Brogdon is a pretty nice player he looked like a pretty sweet 2nd round pick.
Parker handles the ball pretty well he looks pretty good.
In isolation Giannis surprisingly reminds me a lot of...Andrew Wiggins. I'm. Or suggesting they have the same skill sets but it was striking to me. That's probably a credit to Giannis in how he has worked on his game to get to that point. Wiggins moves are more refined but it's clear Giannis has worked on his footwork and certain situations. He is a fun player to watch.
It will be nice when we have the same coach and some continuity of players so we will have more guys that nobody has heard of come in and play solid for us more often. Some of that is targeting the right players but that's easier to do when you have players and a system in place for a while.
Edit: watched a bunch of condensed games is fun.
Ron Bakers is starting for the Knicks now? Good stuff. I know that says something about the Knicks but I thought he had a chance to be an NBA player. I watched the condensed game of the Raps vs the Knicks and near the end of that blowout Van Vliet went to the rim and Former teammate Baker swatted his shot. Not too long after that they were embracing after the game was over.

Woj just now: "Sources: Timberwolves actively shopping Ricky Rubio."
More:
"The Minnesota Timberwolves are actively shopping point guard Ricky Rubio in trade proposals, league sources told The Vertical.
The Timberwolves have attached Rubio to multiple offers with Shabazz Muhammad to several teams around the NBA, league sources said. Minnesota has been seeking something of a "bridge" guard in return, a player capable of starting in the short term, but who'll ultimately settle into a backup role and give way to rookie Kris Dunn to become the long-term starter, league sources said."

Praise the Lord!! And Im still a Bazz believer. If Thibs can turn Bazz/Rubio into an upgrade at the point I would be very happy.

It will probably be Gay and Casspi. Upgrade?

I think the kings will be the team.
Something like Collison then a lot of options in Casspi, WCS, Lotto protected 1st, McLemore, Pappas( whoever there pick was last year), Skal. Long shot in Gay

That's not going to get it done. Just sign either of them in 6 months.
Re: 2016-2017 around the league thread
I think it would have to be a 3 team deal if we really are going to get a legit guard.

Meanwhile there seems to be some real news. CP3 supposedly has a torn ligament in his thumb and will be out 6-8 weeks.

Re: 2016-2017 around the league thread
I watched a decent chunk of the first half of the Nets and Raptors tonight it was kinda fun since the Raptors have some players out. Hollis Jefferson was having his way with a very small perimeter lineup for the Raptors. Corey Joseph was going bonkers he had 18 points in the first half. The wolves need to keep building their team with talent.
Also Lopez was working over Jonas bigtime when he posted him up.

We're not the only team floundering with a great group of youngsters. Look at the struggle Milwaukee is going through right now. They can't get out of their own way. Lost 4 in a row and down 10 to the Heat tonight.
