Hey remember when Klay Thompson was struggling and there were rumors about him getting traded? Yeah it seems things are working out in GS lately.

Q - The next 15 games between now and Jan. 3 will tell the tale for the season. If the Wolves can steal one of the upcoming three games against the Spurs, Raptors or Warriors in the next week, then I can see this team going 10-5 over this 15-game stretch assuming the team is about to come around. That would put our record at 16-19 at the end of the night Jan. 3, which wouldn't put us among the top 8 but would I think would get us into the playoff conversation. If we end up no better than .500 over this stretch, then there's no reason to focus on anything but lottery balls.

Whoa - so we steal one game out of three and suddenly go 10-5 over this tough stretch! Lip, I love your (potential) optimism, but that seems ridiculously unlikely. But I guess hope is what keeps us diehards engaged, so who am I to judge?

I think your latter scenario is by far the more likely one although I'm not sure what soft tanking looks like at this point. Aren't we kinda already doing it by just being ourselves?

Just to be clear and make sure none of you attempt to have me involuntarily committed, I was simply suggesting that the Wolves COULD go 10-5 if they win one of those three games against top opponents. Do I think they would? No. But other than the Spurs, Warriors and Raptors, the Wolves certainly have the talent to beat all their opponents during that stretch. Otherwise, I agree it's unlikely this team finishes over .500 during the next 15 games given what we've seen from them so far.

We drafted Bazz when we could have drafted the Greek Freak. But I won't ask whether you would trade Bazz straight up for him because you'd be certifiably insane if you answered no. I'll ask instead whether you'd trade Wiggins straight up for the Freak. The answer for Wolves fans should be an equally obvious yes. Unfortunately, it goes without saying that the Bucks would never do the deal. What if we threw in Ricky? They still wouldn't do the deal.

Regarding GF vs. Bazz, what if we add into that discussion the idea that they would have been less likely to have KAT in the event the drafted GF instead? These question tend to be very easy so long as we don't consider how the dominos would have fallen differently in the ensuing years! Another thought regarding that draft, they could have ended up with GF and Gobert!!

I'll probably turn out to be wrong (again or still?) but I'll take KAT, Zach, and Wiggins over GF and whatever would have happened after.

I'd still take our group, but the reason is because I think Towns could be an all-time great when it's said and done. Milwaukee has a special core too, though. No denying that.
