Abe's Ridiculous Stat of the Day.

Post by AbeVigodaLive »

- Russell Westbrook went for 50/16/10, beat Oscar... blah blah... That's not the stat of the day.
- Atlanta came back from 26 points down in the 4th quarter. That's not the stat of the day.
- Karl Anthony Towns shot 17 - 22 for 40 points. That's not the stat of the day.
- Andrew Wiggins scored 41... making it only the 14th time teammates scored 40 in the same game. That's not the stat of the day.

-- Timberwolves guards combined to score 2 points. TWO! D'Angelo Russell beat that himself with one shot at the buzzer. That's your stat of the day.

[note: 83 minutes. 1 - 14 fg. but hey, ricky rubio led the team in +/- proving how important he was tonight ... ahem, ahem. see, if you search enough, you can find a stat to support almost any narrative you want every single game.]

Rubio scored with less than 3 minutes left.

In all honesty, it's the only reason I stayed up to watch that game. Remarkable. I've never seen anything like this before.

More fun with stats!

- The Los Angeles Lakers have won 4 straight games... while trying to lose.
- The Timberwolves last 4-game winning streak happened in 2012. (The team's last 5-game win streak was in 2009...]

[Note: The Golden State Warriors have 9 streaks of at least 4 wins in a row... this season.]

I agree. Well, I like it for cleverness, but not so much for content...man, it's tough to be a Wolves fan :(.

Man learn to just take a compliment. :) We need all the positivity we can get to us through this.

Sidenote if you want a laugh listen to the last few minutes of Wolfson's latest podcast where he talks to JR Rider. Ok you probably don't want to listen but short story was (after saying some positive things about where his life is now etc) he said the Wolves made a decision to deal him and later when Wolfson's asked him about his decisions that maybe were less than positive...he most likely hung up. Lol

Thanks for the heads up on that, monster...I will try to listen to that. I've been wondering what happened to JR...glad to hear he's not dead or in prison.

I may have told this story before, but it's always good for a laugh. I was in some downtown dive years ago and standing behind Rider at the ATM. He left his receipt in the machine after taking out his $300, so I checked the balance in his checking account...it was something like $800,000! As I recall, my balance was somewhat lower at the time :(.
