Why does everyone think they deserve max? Noel is not a max player but i looked it up and saw thats what he wanted to stay in philly. At this rate cole aldrich will be a max guy in a few years. Is noel realistically going to get the max really?

For me, Chicago would have to add something with Butler if they want Wiggins.
I agree with this logic.
And...the Bulls probably would want the Wolves to add something to Wiggins to trade Butler. It's not going to happen folks.
I agree, it definitely will not happen. Just far too much risk for the Wolves franchise. Imagine the nightmare that would ensue if we traded 4+ years of Wiggins for 1 or 2 years of George or Butler. The risk firmly outweighs the reward in my opinion.
I'm also curious what the $$ difference is between signing Wiggins to a 4-5 year max vs. signing a vet like george or butler to a 4-5 year max? Anyone know?

I won't be surprised if Brooklyn gets 2 of Noel, Porter, and KCP to sign max offer sheets that their respective teams ultimately match. Brooklyn has tons of money and no reason to save that money to tank for draft picks they won't be keeping.
I actually think he'd be the perfect fit here, and wish we had traded for him to get half a year audition with him next to KAT. There is just no way in hell I would pay max money for Noel's limited offensive game and durability concerns. But he does have a ton of defensive potential and is still young. I'd say he gets at least 20 mil per. Remember, guys like Crabbe, Tyler Johnson, Deng, Noah, Mozgov, Turner, Biyombo, etc. etc. got 15 mil+ per last offseason.

It has nothing to do with deserve. It has to do with what would it take to get Dallas to not match. A max or close to it I imagine. A reasonable deal is gonna get matched by the Mavs so you either overpay him or you don't get him. Welcome to restricted free agency.

Yep Kahns laid it out pretty well. Whether it's the max or not it's going to be a bunch of money. Look at what guys like Biyombo got last year Noel might not get the max, but it's going to be a lot.

George Hill is a free agent and it's almost guaranteed that Gordon Haywood will explore free agency. Favours will be a 12 mil expiring after next season and Jazz will have to let him go if they resign Hill and Hayward to deals this offseason.
Assuming we draft at 7, would that pick and Peks expiring be enough to get him?
I like the idea. His value is at an all-time low after an injury-filled season where he recently said he was "playing on one leg."
Here's the rub... and the rub with so many players in the NEW NBA... his contract is up after next season. So he could be a potential one-year rental. What do you give up for a guy like that?
I don't think you give up a ton to get him and the Jazz don't HAVE to do anything even though they may already have a replacement. It's not like the Jazz are some whatever team they are pretty good. It would be interesting to see what the price it would take to get him though for the reasons already mentioned.

Around the league there is a lot of chatter about trading for Butler or George.
I look at Boston who has all the assets to make a move, have a hole at PF, yet they only are in talks about a wing.
That got me thinking, is there a large of a lack of PFs that aren't worth a top pick? Are they so coveted that teams won't shop them? Is the league still on it's toes when it comes to deciding on which direction to spend on a 4?
What's your view?

Teams want star players those guys are star players and both teams might not have enough talent to be true contenders and have some pieces to rebuild.
The PF spot is interesting. The league is being infused with a ton of young talented bigs. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

I understand that view. But Boston is essentially stacked at the wing position. MN also has two potential stars there. Both have a glaring hole at PF.
I had trouble coming up with any PFs I'd trade for with our pick. Do you have any?
Everyone talks about the dead C position, yet it seems the PF position is really dead.

You make a good point. Part of why it seems dead too is that the top PFs are on very good teams so you don't think about them. Griffin Love Aldridge and Draymond Green. Some of those top guys are getting older like Zach randolph and Bosh can't play anymore Duncan retired and Dirk is going that direction. The young guys are coming in but they haven't gotten there yet or we aren't sure whether they are PFs or Cs like Towns and Porzingis. To me the C position might be getting pretty interesting because Jokic And Embiid (if healthy) are beasts and I'm tending to lean towards Towns being more of a C. You have guys like Nurkic and Turner and some other guys plus the Cousins AD combination.
I agree I don't think there is a PF I would trade the pick for either of guy that reasonably would be available. I think the Wolves probably need to sign a fringe starter mobile PF and try and develop their future starter there on way or another.
