Yeah, the new logo is fine. But the half-time presentation was outstanding!

Just watched the video and I got a little emotional.

As for the logo it's fine. It's not amazing but it certainly doesn't suck. It's an improvement over the previous logo. I just looked at a bunch of other NBA logos and...it make me like it a lot more than I thought it would looking at other logos. I'm looking forward to seeing how they incorporate everything together.

Which is one hell of an accomplishment given this franchises lack of accomplishments worthy of celebration. I like the logo, as does Wiggins I'm sure as his neon green kicks will fit in even better next year!

I'm not sure I'm digging that the same firm is designing so many of the new logos...

Talented crews or not, it's not necessarily the recipe for cutting-edge (or really very terrible) stuff.

Jon K wrote a story about how the logo rebrand process. I found it odd people were so in love with stuff from the past. IMHO Design something really new! Oh well it's still turned out pretty good. I'm going to be interested to ask a number of my friends who design for a living what their impressions are.

I'm not a big fan of this logo. The lime green just seems slapped on there as an afterthought.

I love how marketers find ways to justify and add importance to design elements. It's a skill. But sometimes, those justifications/reasons are created AFTER the design is already hatched. Read some of those doozies here:

Zach Lowe on the new logo. (It's a shame what ESPN has done to this man. I miss his old onslaught of basketball columns... woe)...

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19135644/zach-lowe-minnesota-timberwolves-new-logo-nba

Also in the article...
More good news: The Wolves are scrapping their hideous, butterscotchy court design for next season, and revamping their uniforms. Some of the riskier motifs they left on the logo cutting room floor will pop up in those places. "As we get into those other elements," Johnson said, "we are going to be more aggressive."

This is a good thing. The court is terrible. And the secondary logos are an important part of the brand along with the uniforms. I visit a design community site that goes in-depth on new logos and branding. I doubt they'll have anything until the Wolves entire branding initiative is released though... For anybody interested in checking out other rebrands (including recent sports logos)... here it is... http://www.underconsideration.com/brandnew/

The logo is decent. I don't love it, but at least it's not where I don't like it.
It is similar to the secondary Wolves logo (which I do love) and would have rather them just gone with it. But I know they wanted something New.

A couple of things I don't like: No eyeball in the eye. I like that the current secondary logo has one and wish the new logo did as well.
Also, I don't like the "Basketball" theme. It's an NBA logo we know the T-wolves play basketball why does it have to be round with a basketball in it. It seems like half the logos are now like that: Nets, 76ers Raptors, Wizards... So it doesn't look Unique enough.
If you look at NFL logos, you don't see them having footballs in all theirs.

I agree, the eyeball bugs me as well. I prefer all of our old designs to this one.

As for the "Basketball" theme, I've always figured that doing such was for the international pull.
