I'm defending against accusations that the game has passed him by, that's a ridiculous statement

I wanted Sabonis so bad over Dunn. I really did.

First, I didn't accuse him of the game passing him by. I said the way the NBA crew was talking it made me wonder. Second, to not question Thibs at this point sounds more ridiculous to me.

- Sabonis had not scored more than 11 points in the past 30 games.
- He only hit double figures 2x in 30 games.
- He hadn't hit more than 3 shots in 18 games. Hadn't hit more than 5 shots in 33 games.

EVERYTHING needs to be questioned at this point.
It's ok that that the team didn't meet expectations. It's ok that they missed the playoffs. Is it ok that they lost 50+ games again? Is it ok that such a young team is getting worse as the season goes on? Is it ok that they're losing to teams either trying to lose (Lakers) or sitting 4 of their top 8 players (OKC) while playing starters 36 - 40 minutes?
I think I'm about as level-headed as they come about this stuff. But, every year, there's a moment with this team where they force me into a corner and I have no other option but to exclaim... "They suck balls. Still."

I'm not sure Bloop, but it sounds like your defending the job Thibs did with our defense this year. I can't get on board with that.
Considering the sample size... "fluke" might help describe it.
To expand a bit... On 1/7 the Wolves were 11-26. They proceeded to play fairly well, going 17-12 (yup, that's 5 games over .500) over 2+ months. Then Belly went down, and even Payne was unavailable to play. The crap hit the fan. That's a pretty long stretch to be a mere fluke.

I think he's gonna be a real good rebounder, tough as nails and I don't worry about whether he'll continue to develop. He has a lifetime coach in his father.
We need shooting and rebounding. Sabonis or Hield would have been just fine with me. This team just collectively feels like victims in a street fight.

I think it's ridiculous to even wonder if it's passed him by, especially using these end of season games where many players have already packed it in for the summer. A defensive guru who only took one year off takes over a historically bad defensive team, subtracts the defensive vets like KG and Prince, using little cap room period and end up being bad again, and people are wondering if the game has passed Thibs by? Come on man

Re: GDT: Westbrook Sucks
Guys i hate to tell you this, but this team didn't go in the tank because Belly went down. Though he was playing his best ball at the time of the injury, he gave us equally poor ball for most of the first half of the season. We went in the tank for a lot of reasons:
- Poor overall chemistry on both ends of the floor
- Terrible ball movement on offense
- Lack of shot makers outside of Towns and Wig
- Starters wearing down after playing so many minutes
- Zach Lavine going down
- A lack of effort on defense
Belly's loss paled in comparison to all of these things.

He's not perfect Bloop. His sideline demeanor will wear out it's welcome in short order if it hasn't already. He failed to provide any meaningful improvement over last season. His offense is archaic in this era of the 3 point shot. C'mon, the guy has some issues.
