Re: GDT: Westbrook Sucks
I do tend to give him the benefit of the doubt A LOT but it's hard for me not to when he has rolled over all of his moves into next season. I don't know what to think of his offense or defense because it's a few kids barely old enough to drink showcased and accompanied by a bunch of scrubs. I think a year in his system, Wig and Towns putting on more weight, and a drastically different roster will tell the truth next year

New logo same look. A Wolf looking up, in the sky and in the standings.

I'm going to steal that one if you don't mind. Well done.

Wish I was proud of it.

First, I didn't accuse him of the game passing him by. I said the way the NBA crew was talking it made me wonder. Second, to not question Thibs at this point sounds more ridiculous to me.
I think it's ridiculous to even wonder if it's passed him by, especially using these end of season games where many players have already packed it in for the summer. A defensive guru who only took one year off takes over a historically bad defensive team, subtracts the defensive vets like KG and Prince, using little cap room period and end up being bad again, and people are wondering if the game has passed Thibs by? Come on man
He's not perfect Bloop. His sideline demeanor will wear out it's welcome in short order if it hasn't already. He failed to provide any meaningful improvement over last season. His offense is archaic in this era of the 3 point shot. C'mon, the guy has some issues.
Cool - I agree with you completely. You can't look at this season honestly without seriously questioning Thibs in his role as head coach of this team. This team's poor chemistry on both ends and consistently terrible ball movement on the offensive end point back to the head coach -- especially a coach like Thibs with a reputation for a lack of offensive imagination.
Thibs had success as a head coach with one team and one group of players on that team. And he was eventually fired by that franchise. He's not Popovich with a long history of success coaching multiple teams within the same franchise And he's not Rick Carlisle with a record of major success/overachievement coaching two different franchises. So while he merits some latitude, that latitude has limits. Bottom line is that finishing this season with essentially the same record as last even though it's the same young - but more experienced -core from last season necessarily calls Thibs' coaching into question. It's even worse when you consider that last season's team finished at a nearly .500 clip after the all-star break. I'll add my observation that the players look unhappy and uninspired -- in stark contrast to the spirit, joy and togetherness I saw regularly from this same group last season.
This season has been a horrific failure. That's indisputable in my view. There are lots of things to look at in assessing that failure, but the list of those things has to have our head coach right at the top.

It was well done. You could have gone with a sad Wolf howling at the moon after a loss also...

To be fair this isn't the same group that finished last season. It's hard to have everyone upbeat together when 2 of the guys that were playing well had surgery and done for the year.
Re: GDT: Westbrook Sucks
Monster -- It's the same core team. Subtracting Prince and Miller while adding Rush, Aldrich, HIll and done doesn't seem significant. I do agree that losing Zach and Belly hurt the team. But this team set its course for a putrid finish long before those two went down. I could see us winning tonight's game and the Laker game if we had one or both of those guys. Add a few more wins with them playing the last few weeks and perhaps we end up with 36 wins. That would still be a terrible disappointment and and indictment of Thibs. If Thibs is truly an elite head coach, then even 36 wins this season from a fully healthy squad start to finish would cast Thibs in a negative light.

Why is it a terrible dissapointment that a team that got worse on paper finished with a better record?
