Celebrate Shabbaz with me

Post by thedoper »

I know there are a lot of holes in his game. But no one would have guessed that the kid would be taking the min to play here. This is cause for celebration and shows that we really are starting to have a class organization here. Zach Lowe just had a great podcast with Sam Walker where he talks about winning teams and culture which I highly recommend, this is precisely the type of move that happens from someone with leadership characteristics, and is a move that happens in a winning culture.

I commend Bazz in a huge way for this. Considering after the draft and his ditching the rookie orientation he was rerided for being a bad attitude guy, he has been nothing but an excellent professional. Far from a perfect basketball player, but as far as I can see a winner. I didn't think there was any way he was going to sign here for the min and I didn't blame him at all. As resident co-president of the Bazz fan club along with Wildwolf I wanted to share this highlight reel from last year. Go Wolves.

It has to be difficult for him to dress next to a guy who is going to make $28 large more than him in Wiggins. At least he knows that going in.

No kidding. Which is why I am amazed. A lot of older guys deride the "me first" culture of the NBA and yes there is a long term play here that makes sense, but its really something that I don't think anyone could have guessed would happen going into last year even. This is a big boy move for the guy, and we needed him this year more than in the past. I hope for his sake a healthy and productive year.

I am pumped he is back and think he made the right choice. Watching that video made me think we will miss Rubio though.

The video reminded me of how well Shabazz and gorgi used to work together on the second unit. With Gibson here we may see that connection again

I'm not a big Bazz fan but this is a good value for the money spent. He is a legit 15 MPG rotation player that improved last year defensively. In fact, he and Bjelica were the only two that really seemed to show much improvement defensively under Thibs. Everyone else flat lined or regressed.

Hopefully Bazz will be playing with Tyus or Teague that that will be good for him. I don't think playing minutes with Dunn did him any favors offensively last year.

Great stuff. Gives us another scoring punch off the bench. Now let's sign Cunningham (or Gerald Green) and Canaan and let's roll.

Teague / Jones / Canaan
Wiggins / Crawford / George's-Hunt
Butler / Muhammad / Cunningham
Gibson / Bjleica / Patton
Towns / Dieng / Aldrich

2 way contracts - Anthony Brown / Amile Jefferson
