I was gonna post this, Bloop... but figured it might be better to wait until tomorrow when the angst is a full tilt... looking at the offseason.

That just sounds like an agent being a good agent. In terms of Glen talking out of turn, this seems to rank pretty low although I'd rather he never speak about players.

Remember that time when Glen Taylor bashed one of the NBA's most legendary players (in part because of his noted work ethic) claiming he tanked... while putting a product on the floor that included Mark Madsen taking 6 three pointers in OT?

Good old crazy Uncle Glen.

Yeah, I think this is not a big deal.

But I do think the agents stance on Jimmy "not being a recruiter" is absolutely a bunch of garbage. In any field of work, we are all relied upon to become "recruiters" in order to obtain top level talent. In professional sports, this is even more important. Jimmy absolutely has an obligation to pitch and recruit for the team he plays for.....if he wants to enable success for this team. He needs to convince the right players that this team is on its way up.....and work to dispel concerns. His agent is smartly trying to remove any future culpability on his player in relation to roster construction. "This is all their fault....I just play". I just think in today's sports, player relationships have a profound impact to roster construction, and Jimmy being our best player certainly has a responsibility in some form.....especially when it comes to convincing these "min level vets" to come to his club.

Sure. To some extent...

But it can also scream volumes about the organization, too. Sans the players, more specifically Butler in this case... what reason would any top or even middling player look at this organization and be excited to play here?

This is about a lot more than this team and this season. It's about this organization over the past 20+ years. It's literally the worst organization in the NBA. Its closest competition was so atrocious that the league mandated that the owner sell the team.

Point being... sure... put it on the players to sell the franchise to others. That's today's NBA. But... the owner has to do his part to by showing competency beyond turning the lights on in time for the game.

I don't see any problem with what either person said. It seems like if Lee is annoyed with anything it's with Hartman for framing the question the way he did. Lee saying Jimmy's role isn't recruiting...I agree with Hicks that's kinda BS. Players talk and Glen isn't a complete moron. He knows Jimmy is very popular around the NBA. It's absolutely going to be a factor in trying to get FAs to come here.

Based off of the agent's responses the second half of the article it gave the vibe that Jimmy and Thibs are a package deal to me anyway.

Well...

Glen has ponied up for some of the best practice facilities in the league (was the top when it was built) spent a bunch of money to hire the best coach available at the time. He renovated the Target center and from everything I have heard it's turned out better than anyone expected it to be although the expectations were pretty low. He did finally get a g-league team. He has spent money on his Lynx team. Sure it doesn't erase the years of being a poor franchise and being the owner in the middle of all that but...he has put some money into this thing. I guess the point is what has he done for you lately? Oh crap I'm defending Glen Taylor again. Why do I always do this? Oh I should have said earlier I basically agree with your post just giving Glen SOME credit.

But let's get back to what the agent said...players want to go where they can win...he didn't say anything about money but we know that's a bigtime factor and for the most part I have no problem with it. The Wolves look primed to win a lot of games. Maybe they stumble but it looks pretty promising. Utah hasn't exactly been a hotbed for free agents but I bet some players will have a bit more interest in going there this year and won't have to be swayed as much by the money to do it even if the upside there might not be as high as the Wolves.

Any guess which team owns the records below? I understand the frustration with this team. I have been watching this team since year 1.....but let's not pretend that all these other organizations are perfect. This isn't that long ago.....and this franchise was considered bottom of the garbage pile bad.
