Thibs will probably survive this offseason, but it's more likely he's gone after next year. I find it hard to believe Butler would re-up with the Wolves unless there is a chance to contend here. He will be leaving his prime and I'm sure a chance at a title will be his biggest motivator.
Spot on, Cool.
And this is another reason why the Wolves have to be willing to go into the Lux tax this season and not cheap out. They don't have to go crazy but yeah.

I think you're right, Monster. The Wolves aren't in a position to take incremental steps anymore. It's all in right now for this franchise. This team needs to be a top 3 team in the West by the trade deadline next February. Anything short of that will have to be evaluated at the time. Depending on how far off we are from the top 3 next February, how we're playing and overall circumstances, it may be necessary to move Butler and reboot around our two young guys, KAT and Wiggins.

We were a top 3 team at this trade deadline...
Good point, Kahns. And we had better be in at least the same position at the same time next season. That's my minimum threshold for keeping Butler and our other older guys. Otherwise, I'd look to move Teague and Butler, although some of it would depend on the circumstances and context, including injuries and how close other teams are in the standings among other things.
