Deandre Jordon

Edit: and Capela is probably one of the most underrated on this board and probably a lot of places.

Funny, they all MAY be overrated....but every one of them would get major minutes on our team. Just sayin....

C'mon, it's not like a bunch of posters said we should have traded Wiggins instead. Oh wait........

He certainly fell off some the last 10-15 games after lighting up the Wolves. But it's not like Chicago was playing for anything other then losing.

But at the same time, Wiggins hasn't exactly lit anything on fire either, shooting career lows in 3 and FT. Not a good trend.

I think we'll need a larger sample size to see who turns out the better player. Neither is living up to the hype.

I won't disagree I just have to say I've been pretty conflicted about his value the last couple years. I think he is firmly in the both overrated/underrated category where I doubt anyone (nationally fans etc) really knows his true value.

Courtney Lee and Jared Dudley jump to the top of my list. I'm guilt of overrating Lee a couple years ago. I think Jae Crowder definitely belongs on the list as well.

Jason Tatum doesn't belong on this list. As a rookie with one year of college, Tatum averaged 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal and only 1.4 turnovers in 30.5 minutes a game. He shot 47.5% from the field and 43.4% from behind the arc and 82.6% at the line. I haven't looked at his advance defensive stats, but I suspect they're pretty good since he plays for the Celtics. And he was one of the core three on a team that won 55 games. Given what Tatum in his one NBA season, I can't recall any posts on this Board that could be interepreted as overrating him. In fact, I can't even imagine a post overrating him short of decaying his the second coming of Michael Jordan, LeBron James or Kevin Durant. I don't recall any posts even close to going that far.

As for Otto Porter, I actually don't remember any recent posts on him. His numbers are actually very solid -- 14.7 points and 6.4 rebound, shooting 50.3% from the field on 11.5 shots per game and 44% from behind the arc. I'm not a huge Porter fan, but any posts praising him would have to be really over-the-top to be characterized as overrating him given those sold numbers.

I guess that Zach LaVine could be viewed as overrated by this Board, but that's probably the homer factor since he was once one of our own. Nevertheless, I don't think anyone on this Board went further than suggesting he had the potential to be a future allstar. No one put him at that level quite yet. I don't think his limited set of games after ACL surgery is a good measure of him as a player relative to the praise he's receive on this Board. Better to look at his 2nd and 3rd seasons before the injury. He shot 45.2% from the field and nearly 40% from behind the arc in his second season. He then shot nearly 46% form the field and just under 40% from behind the arc in his third season -- both percentages on relative high volume shooting -- and scored 19 points a game. You'd have to go pretty far in you praise to overrate him given those numbers. This Board has generally acknowledged his shortcomings defensively. So I think don't think we've overrated him on this Board other than perhaps getting a bit too optimistic about his potential.
