Something else to consider with Markkenen. It wasn't like he was playing with some sort of good PGs in his rookie year. The guys the Bulls put out there had maybe like 5 total seasons of games between them when the season ended. None of them I would consider above average at their position at making other guys look good. Markkenen has a lot of opportunity but I'd have doubts others created awesome opportunities game in game out. I thought he could be a bigger more physically gifted Ryan Anderson which is a nice player. I think he was at least that this year (comparing their rookie years) or better. There is still offensive upside with him and this is from a guy that didn't believe he was gonna be awesome or whatever.

I would also say I was wrong on Lauri. I hated him going into the draft. I think he will be a very good NBA player. Starter on a playoff caliber team. I will say though I would still do the trade 100 out of 100 times. But I was shocked on what they got out of him this year.

Positive vibes about Markkanen might give a bit more confidence to our talent evaluation for this franchise since Glen basically said he was the guy we would have picked if we stayed there.
Danny Green is simply one of the best transition defenders I have ever seen. It's unbelievable how he is able to disrupt players, take the ball way etc.

He is really good defensively. Klay Thompson too. Amazing how he often checks opposing PGs that are theoretically quicker than he is. He stays in front of guys and fights over screens as well as anyone in the NBA.
Sixers just showed me that you can play good defense without a defensive savant in the middle. They just shut down Miami in the 3rd quarter with only one all-NBA caliber defender in Covington and then a bunch of guys I always thought of as mediocre at best individually. It's amazing how a coach can get guys to play up on that side of the floor!

I was just about to post on the Sixers game. It's such a treat watching the Sixers play. And it's not just their defense. It's also the way they move the ball and move without the ball on offensive. No player holds the ball more than a few seconds. Guys are constantly moving and cutting off the ball. And they're not constantly listening for instructions barked by their head coach from the bench. Then there's the hustle. The Sixers win almost every 50-50 ball battle and if they don't win the battle they force a jump ball.
