I don't have my hopes up on him, but at some point he may get his chance.

I can't remember who was guarding Oubre last night, but he should have been brought in at least to have a shot at him or Meeks.

I've seen his name littered throughout this forum. But I know nothing about the guy.

Is there legit buzz about him or something? Or is it just the annual futile tradition of looking for an answer from anywhere...

The latter mostly. It's the argument that a guy who does nothing, might be better than shabazz who does a lot but mostly negative

"legit buzz"? No probably not but like kekgeek said is it really that hard to improve on what Bazz is doing? At this point he is like that backup QB excitement from fans when the starter sucks...well actually it's more like the practice squad guy that got promoted to the full roster when the starter went down and the backup that is starting sucks but yeah.

So IF you want to Get to know stuff about MGH here is the run down:

Was called up by 2 NBA teams (Miami and Orlando) last season and had a good season in the D-league last year putting up some solid all around stats playing for the Boston run squad.

Orlando signed him to a deal last year and the word is that when they waived him this summer a number of teams would have claimed him but since he was due more than the vet min they couldn't just claim him. Supposedly he turned down more money to come here because of the possibility of making the roster. He looks pretty smart in that regard. So other teams at some point this offseason actually wanted this guy.
He also said he liked the idea of coming to play for Thibs who Butler developed and play with Jimmy who had to work his way into the league.

His final year in college he played some PG and he said he typically guarded the other team's best perimeter player most of his college career. Considering he played in the ACC he likely guarded plenty of guys that are NBA players over his 4 year career. Was he effective guarding those players? No idea.

The guy has a strong build and while not an explosive athlete he seems pretty fluid. His shooting seems like it may be legit and he clearly has some ability to handle the ball based on what he has done at the college and d-League level. In one game playing for Iowa which i watched he seemed legitimately a better player than anyone else they had but considering that team kinda sucks maybe that's not saying much. Again remember we are comparing him to Bazz so...lol.

That's more than you probably wanted to know and it's onviously more likely he sucks or at best a fringe NBA player. Maybe there is a 10% chance he will be the next Anthony Tolliver type...(wait that's maybe even too high to hope for) that could actually be useful going forward. If he has some basketball IQ can move he ball and not be horrific on defense and play hungry it may be time to see what he has.
