Brett Brown has been coaching the team to play hard on defense and move the ball on offense since they were bottom of the barrel. "The Process" is finally paying off as he now has the talent. They could be a very dangerous team if they can stay healthy.
So HInkie was right but won't get any of the glory for the success of "The Process".
Missed this previously....
He was right and wrong. Sure, eventually when you suck that badly and trade that many assets away, you are bound to get some talent in the door. But did they really have to put their fan base through 3+ years of pure misery and constant churn of players: 19 wins, 18 wins, 10 wins....then they finally were a
little competitive last year and won 28 games.
His first moves were to draft Michael Carter-Williams and trade for Nerlens Noel, both of whom ended up as busts relative to their draft position. He drafted Embiid, but skepticism remains that he can stay healthy. His next pick was Jahil Okafor. Oops.
I think the best move he made was hiring Brett Brown. That he should get credit for, but otherwise he did a lot of losing without much to show for it. You gotta nail more of your picks if you are going to put your fan base through that kind of losing.
