TC will be rocking tonight...Warriors GDT.
I'm not going to go so far as to say this is a "must win" tonight, but with the Blazers as hot as they are, it's certainly close to one. And despite the oddsmakers installing the Warriors as a 5-point favorite, this one feels like a pick 'em to me.
Simply stated, the Warriors have not been very good since Durant went down...offensively or defensively. We all noted the depth the Warriors lost when they shuffled their roster to accommodate KD's contract, and that lack of depth (and size) is hurting them now. They have started McCaw the past three games, and that leaves them undersized at every position except center...and center is such a weak position for them that they are playing Draymond Green half the game there. I assume they start out with Thompson on Wig, and if so, let's hope Thibs starts Muhammad at SF. Won't it be fun to watch Patrick McCaw trying to keep Bazz off the offensive boards? I know GS prefers Iggy coming off the bench, but it just doesn't make sense with KD out. I think Iggy is the wild card tonight...if he plays 30 minutes and is effective at both ends of the court, this will be a tough game for us. But if he doesn't, this will be a very happy board going into the Bucks game.
Here's the game plan I want to see. The Wolves come out with the same kind of energy they had against the Clippers, and build a quick double digit lead against the Midget Warriors. Then, the crowd keeps the Wolves in the game, and Thibs uses Dunn and Stephenson liberally to keep Curry and Thompson in check. This could be a fun one tonight.

By TC, do you mean TC the Bear?

I'd be really surprised if Kerr doesn't rest a couple of guys tonight. They have SA tomorrow and he has said that is something he needs to do. SA rested guys the last couple of nights to get ready for Saturday.

That's a very good point, sjm...with the Spurs hot on their heels, that game is much more important them then tonight's. The Wolves got some bad luck with Monday's game being canceled, but they might have caught a break here.

Even as a Boston fan (behind the Wolves, obviously)... it's why I was rooting for GSW to beat Boston on Wednesday. It would have given Kerr one more game to play with and bench his starters in this obvious "trap" game.
Speaking of trap games... even though the Wolves are playing some legit teams, they caught a bit of a break when they played the Spurs, Clippers and Warriors. Even so, going 2 - 1 in that stretch would be a HUGE step moving forward.

Unless the thought is they concede the San Antonio game and try to really go for the win tonight (?). That seems a little bass-ackwards, but a worst-case scenario would be rest key guys tonight against a hot team playing at home and put themselves at risk of losing 2 straight. May be they go all in tonight and at least ensure they get a split.

I think they try to win both games for obvious reasons.

I don't think they can afford to rest anybody tonight. All the games count the same in the standings. Look for them to bring their A game tonight.

Hey who's pumped for this one? Biggest game we've had for quite a while.

I'm watching the pregame on NBA TV. Are they going to even mention the Warriors are playing the Timberwolves tonight. Damn, Warriors, Spurs, Cavs and Oklahoma the entire pregame.
Give the Twolves some credit, they have looked great since the all star break.
Go Wolves!
