Seen it happen too many times. We're just not mature enough to win that game. What I find amazing is that Spurs team has one great player (Kawhi), one very good one (Aldridge), and then a bunch of Bjelica's, yet they play like a team full of all stars. Pop's a cocksucker but I have to give him his due.
Didn't see much of the game but man, it looks like we had them. Up 8 entering the 4th, overtime, then Kawhi got it done. Tough game for Wiggins, it seems like Kawhi is his kryptonite...but if someone would have told me that Wiggs would go 6 for 24 I would have assumed we got blown out. Instead the Spurs have to feel lucky they again (!) found a way to win. But they're the Spurs, and all they do is find ways to win. It's truly nauseating.
Still, the Nuggs biffed a game tonight, so we are still only 3 games out after this brutal road trip. There's hope yet. I thought this would be the road trip that buried the playoff chances for sure, but instead we're still in the hunt. And I have to say this is a refreshing change from watching meaningless March games. It's been so long I forgot how much I enjoy games that matter at this time of the season. Hopefully they can creep a little closer.
- Wiggins... ouch. It's not a shock that the last guy to hold him under 20 points was... ... ... Kawhi Leonard! He's simply a bigger, stronger, smarter, more determined version of Wiggins. It's like a college senior punking the brand-new freshman. Wiggins will learn from these games though. Or, Leonard will eventually retire... right?
- Speaking of Kawhi... he's so unassuming... but that guy deserves to be in the MVP discussion. He's upped his scoring to nearly 30 as the season has gone on and he's the only candidate to be as good defensively.
- SAS looked tough defensively. That's that what good winning teams do in close games. And if the refs let them get physical... well... those teams take advantage of it. Again... I hope the Wolves learn this stuff. It matters so damn much.
- Rubio was really fun those 9 minutes. The guy has clearly turned his season around and we've seen an extended stretch of "Fun Rubio." Even if he doesn't hit as many shots as we want... he MUST take them and be a threat. He wasn't at the beginning of the season.
- Would have liked to see more KAT and less Wiggins at the end there, but I get it. It's how the Wolves play and it's not always easy to be able to get a big touches.

Spurs did it because they have Leonard. Wiggins should have been parked in the weakside corner 3, further away from the action so KL stayed uninvolved the defense. And run Rubio/Tyus with KAT 2 man game. Play more Bazz if they wanted more scoring. But Wolves did the complete opposite and scored 35 points in 2 quarters plus OT. Thibs= bad head coach.

That's what we did the last time we played them and we got blown out. We just needed Wig to play better. It didn't happen and we lost. On to the next game.
