So the annual run for ring chasing vets beings... NOW:

Deron Williams will be getting paid by two teams (Bkn + Dal) while chasing a ring with a 3rd (Cle).
Andrew Bogut can pick his playoff destination.
Terrence Jones is about to enter the mix.
Matt Barnes winds up someplace starting in the playoffs almost every year (although TOR and WAS trades complicate things)
Rajon Rondo might not find a new home if he's bought out.

I'm still steamed that Dallas landed Noel and New Orleans got Cousins. That makes our quest for the 8th seed all the more difficult. You just know Carlisle is going to get the most out of Noel.

But yeah, in the meantime, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and we are stuck in between since we're tired of being poor, but aren't rich yet either.

I could see Bogut and Rondo both ending up in Cleveland. Would be fun to see Bogut in the finals against Golden State.

Who knows, but thank God they didn't pull the trigger on this deal.

Now our guys have certainty heading into the stretch run and a very stable rotation (sans LaVine of course).

My guess is we could have a busy summer though.

I'm glad we stayed with the lineup we have. New players, even great players take time to work together. It took KG/Pierce/Allen 2 seasons to be great together. Noel and Cousins can make their respective destinations better in the long run, but I honestly don't think it makes them better this season (and frankly I see Davis and Cousins together as a mistake, Vlade is bright, Cousins must be a bigger cancer than we all assume he is).

What's with Denver acquiring yet another big?

Well we got lapped by multiple teams fighting for that last playoff spot. NO is better. Dallas is better. OKC sealed at least the 7th seed. Only Sacramento got worse and we got worse because we still don't have a good solution to Zach's injury. So draft thread bump?

No. It didn't. In fact, it was entirely the opposite. It was arguably the most impressive example of a team gelling immediately in NBA history. The Boston Celtics were awesome from the very beginning.

They won their first 8 games... and went 20 - 2 to start the season. They won 66 games and then the NBA title.

Then, they started off the next season 27 - 2. They finished 62 - 20 even with Garnett going down... and would have been the favorites to repeat as champions if healthy.

Guys, we're really not a playoff contender this year. Our terrible start is to blame for most of it. Even if we got remarkably hot in the face of our difficult schedule, we have too many teams to pass up and not enough games to do it. You can't expect us to hot, and ALL the other contenders continue at their current pace. I'm hoping for continued progress this year, and i'll be content with that until next fall.

With Louis Williams added to Houston, I don't think they need to even worry about defense. He was easily the Lakers most prolific scorer and now he gets added to the gunslingers in Houston. Holy crap can they score. 30 3 point attempts in less than 3 quarters so far!

I'm glad New Orleans got Boogie. It seems so fitting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agcnpnSPEQQ

It will be fun to watch AD and Cousins together. I don't mind that the competition is getting better. If we can't beat the Pelicans and Dallas, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs.
