Don't know how often you guys listen. It's amazing that Mitchell sounds a lot less idiotic when we win. Most interesting tidbit to me was his affirmation that Wiggins best performance is as a 2. I agree with this, he dominates 2s on both sides of the ball. I know it makes things difficult for Zach, but I still think our lineup with the most versatility is with Wig and Bazz out there. Which is why to me it is essential that we keep both Zach and Bazz in the loop going forward. It gives us such versatility in the 2/3 spot based on matchups. Martin will be gone soon. Tay is a one year experiment. Those 3 make such a nice set of wings.

Yeah, I watched the post-game and he was a lot less defensive tonight...tough to be crabby after a terrific game like that. I think you nailed his reasoning with respect to Zach. He knows that Wig is much more effective as a 2 (and will become even more so as he matures and improves his handle) and wants to keep him there if at all possible...teaming him with Bazz is exciting. And he probably knows that Zach is more comfortable at this stage of his career as a 2 also, but plays him at PG out of necessity. And as an added benefit he knows that, as Flip said so often, every minute Zach plays at PG makes him a better PG, but also makes him a better SG by improving his ball handling skills. It also gives him more options at PG down the road if Ricky sustains another injury. But if Ricky stays healthy and Tyus shows he can be a solid backup PG, then Sam would be delighted to include Zach in a 2/3 rotation with Wig and Bazz. There are a lot of moving pieces here, and it's Sam's job to keep as many options open as possible until we see where the chips fall.

Obviously the dream scenario is that Zach becomes Russel Westbrook. I think this is where the desire for Zach to be a 1 comes from. The Physical tools seem to be there (except maybe the vision). Then we are set with unique players at 4 positions. We just can't do that yet. I do think the press conference signals that there is meat to the Martin rumors. If coach thinks Wig is a 2, then one of the 2s has to go.
