Congrats KG

Post by Porckchop »

Becoming an all-time leader. It's a testament to all the hard work , overall health, and amazing athleticism. He was never great at boxing out , he got there by sheer will and determination .
I'm glad he's back in the fold on this team and even at his old age he still makes a difference when out there .

Thanks for that post, porkchop. The disappointment of another loss in a winnable game made some of us overlook a great historical NBA moment, and it deserves its own thread. Think about it...one of our own guys now has more defensive rebounds than anyone in the recorded history of the game (Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell may have had more, but we don't know because defensive rebounds weren't tracked back then). What an extraordinary feat, and he's our guy! I can't think of any other local hero who holds an all-time record of such significance. Way to go, KG!

Congrats KG, watching you in your MVP year was a real treat, hopefully your mentorship/cheerleading will pay off down the road for these young wolves. A KG snowmobile outing this winter??

Wow, that short video clip thoroughly encapsulates the importance of KG's mentoring. Not only did it articulate KAT's father's view of the importance of KG ("The best thing that's ever happened to KAT"), but then the last thing we see is KG making a beautiful assist to KAT for the and-1 bucket, followed by an intense celebratory scream by KG.

While I certainly always saw some level of value in the idea of veteran mentors, I clearly underestimated the impact of KG specifically. I think what he does that is so special is that besides the teaching/corrective action attribute, he brings unbridled joy when things go well for his understudy. Without the positive reinforcement aspect of things, you just get worn down by constantly being "taught" (or is it nagged?) and barked at. But KG brings the total package of what makes a great mentor.

Good on him.

Wow Q. You're fully drinking the KG trademarked potion. :) Great time to be a Wolves fan as far as I am concerned. Ups and downs will still come but there is such an easy general plan to hold on to Wiggins and Towns at the very least and our future is bright.

Doper, I was originally just a distributor of KG's Magic Mentoring Potion© - you know, like a middleman - but then I actually tried some. Man, it was good stuff! Now I'm a loyal consumer.
