Unless we make another move we have to renounce his rights but we have zero wings right now we would offer some opportunity to come back here and play off the bench. It feels like a long shot though.

Good point. We look like Memphis now don't we? That's a damn site better than we were. Possible irony - we end up in the playoffs against the Jazz somehow, with Ricky running their point
Gasol v. Towns - both highly skilled offensive big men. If Towns can step up defensively that's a wash.
Randolph v. Gibson - grindhouse on offense v. grindhouse on defense.
Conley v. Teague - very similar players. Conley is better, but they are still very similar.
Butler v. Allen - I think we know who's the better of those two and Butler is just as tough defensively.
Oh and we still have Wiggins. So very comparable to the house Memphis was built on with better building blocks for us IMO.

I still think gorgi could stretch the floor at the 4 spot for the bench and I'm sure the rotation will always have wiggins or butler on the floor. With great defense avg 3 point shooters could get it done. I'm sure layden has ways to make room for the right shooter this year or trade during the season.

I agree, Cool. He'd fit the tough grind it out team Thibs is apparently trying to build.
Re: Taj Gibson
He's a way better fit with KAT and G or Belly. We needed an improvement at the 4 one way or another. He may not be a starter on every team in the league but he certainly will adapt what we can do with G. This move is a solid B, and in a world where there were no As left Im happy with it.

With this roster Brandon Rush is starting to look good. I bet he is a lot more interested in coming back also. He would be pretty good for the vet min. His defense with some of these other guys could be more of an asset than last year.

I agree I'd like to see Gorgui pulled out to the corner three for some plays. If Teague or Butler collapse the D and kick it to him, he should be able to knock that down at a decent enough rate. As long as he knows he should be looking for that shot off the catch to make up for his slow-ass release! In the meantime, that will help open up the floor a bit.
Re: Taj Gibson
It is a little more money than I was expecting, but they always are nowadays. I like Taj's toughness, and he seems like a good fit with KAT.

I see the similarity. But I think Randolph is a lot better than Taj. And Conley is clearly much better than Teague. But Butler is better than Allen and we do have Wiggins.
