After that sign a couple young guys to some partially guaranteed deals and hope they impress.

I don't think something like my plan is unrealistic and the bench would be decent. It won't be perfect but I don't see many options that will fix the bench might as well go cheap and probably all on 1 year deals except maybe a young player Dona cheap multitear deal.

Monster - I'd be fine with your scenario of using the RE to get Henderson and the vet minimum to sign Dunleavy, Rush and a good vet backup PG. My suggestion for PG would be Aaron Brooks who would also add much-needed 3-point shooting to the roster. Brooks is a career 37% 3-point shooter and a true ball-handling PG. Is Thabo still available and, if so, do you think we could get him for the vet minimum? And what about Afflalo? Is he still unsigned? Would you rather use the RE on Henderson than Afflalo and, if so, why? I'm not sure myself, so I'm curious as to your thinking.

I don't like watching Aaron Brooks play basketball. Brings back bad Troy Hudson memories/nightmares.

I'm seriously not certain how good Brooks is anymore. It's nice he is a vet and he played backup minutes for a decent team in Indy last year. He isn't really much of a PG he is more of a SG in a PG body with a lot of experience. My guess is that if Teague got hurt...idk it's not great.

Deron Williams is probably the most talented accomplished guy out there plus he is versatile. Getting him for the Room might be a good move if you think you can get him to play well but that's a bit of an if.

Speaking of PGs look at that PG draft with all those guys and where we are right now. Rubio was traded so we can sign Teague. Collison was signed to a decent cheap deal to be the decent starter for the Pacers. Mills got paid more. Branding jennings who was at one point super hyped had such a poor year he may just be happy to get paid by someone and if he wanted to get paid more he would be better off playing in China or something. Anyway look up that draft and see how it worked out and didn't. It was a heck of a PG draft even if some guys are now fringe guys looking at a vet min salary.

Deron Williams is completely washed. I'd prefer many PGs for our 3rd string than him.

I shouldn't say completely washed. Deron Williams can still play some offense, but man watching him on D in the playoffs you can tell his ankles are shot (he also bricked damn near every shot). It's sad. Another big reason is he would be expecting to be our #2 here. Tyus should be given that slot. I don't want to use our mle on a 3rd pg at all, if we did it should be on rose or Rondo. Burke, Jennings, Terry, brooks, Felton, Mack, Canaan, Ennis, Clark, Sessions, Brown are who I would target at the minimum. whomever takes the minimum and accepts the 3rd role.

He did struggle in the playoffs but Deron was pretty effective in the regular season. I agree Rose and Rondo are above those other guys. Basically everyone else has their significant issues of one factor but I think Deron with his size is interesting based on his success last regular season. You are probably right though just getting a vet min guy is the way to go.

I agree with your take that Tyus may be just as good or better than some of these other options. The thing is this is a playoff team it feels like we gotta get someone that is some sort of legit backup option in case Teague went down for any length of time. Like I have said before signing a guy like Aaron Brooks I could see him getting the Jordon Hill treatment if Tyus plays well. If I could pick I would take Terry for his shooting and cagey vet game or Mack just because the guy always seems to be solid when I see him play and just seems hard to play against. I'll say that I am still strangely intruiged with burke. Lol

I won't disagree with the playoff notion, but Tyus has proven to be rather heady for his age. Yes, we need a 3rd pg for injury purposes, but if we assume Teague is healthy in the playoffs then our 2nd pg will get about 8-12 mins per overall. I trust Tyus in that role. He won't be super impactful (maybe he surprises), but he does not make mistakes. That is the best part of him as he has no inclination to show out. Currently we have zero players to pick up the sixteen plus minutes at the two and three slots. Our remaining money has to go there. Vet minimums for the rest.
