Re: Jeff Teague thread
Teague is a former all-star who helped get his team to a conference final. He is a better fit with Butler and Wiggins than Ricky. I know Ricky was a fun player to watch and root for, but it's not like Teague is a bum or washed up. He will help the team win.

Well, the Utah FO says it's Jason Kidd...
Ha, yeah they're pretty excited about the deal!
Hoops...several of us here thought Thibs misused Ricky early in the season. It seemed like Thibs loosened the reins on Ricky after the all-star break, giving him more control over originating the offense rather than positioning him in the corner at times while a wing originated...and Ricky reacted very well with some great numbers.
Hoops and Khans, I agree that we don't know who the real Ricky is...the hesitant, poor shooter he was in his early 20s, or the more confident and successful shooter and scorer we saw the last half of last season. It's easier to make a case for the larger sample size, and conclude he will always be a poor shooter. But then again, NBA players mature at different rates, and typically 26-31 is the hot spot for a player's career. I think a compelling argument can be made that the 26-year-old Rubio's half season is more indicative of the next five years performance than his early seasons. Confidence is a big part of shooting, and Ricky appears to be a guy who thrives on a coach having complete confidence in him. Utah sounds like they are all in, and I expect a big season from him. Something like 16-10-4 with shooting numbers closer to the last half of 2017 than the first half, or perhaps even better. But of course we wont know until we actually see him in the Jazz offense. The only thing we know for certain is that this board will be watching both PGs closely, and that the Teague for Ricky swap will be a talker for a long time.
Re: Jeff Teague thread
If I was a rational person I think I would plan on Jeff Teague being who Jeff Teague has been the last few years which is a pretty good player and Rubio being what he has been the last few years who is a unique but flawed player that can certainly play. Jeff Teague already matured has played in playoff for years and is ready to help the team now when we actually play in games that really matter. Oh and he is 2 years 4 months older the gap isn't that significant although it's worthwhile to make a case Rubio could look late. I wouldn't bet on it I'd take the relatively sure thing in Teague.
Also based on this thread people pretty much know everything about Rubio and really know next to nothing about Teague (including myself till a few days ago when I started researching him). At some point people are gonna find their way to be excited about Teague and maybe they will even find some statistical reasons why he is pretty good or something. It's probably too soon for many. Its not me I love Rubio I would have been ok with keeping him going forward but I'm pretty much over that espcially when they actually got something in return for him and based on the way $$$$$$ is tightening up that pick is going to get increasingly valueable. That might be another reason the Wolves have been seemingly more and more reluctant to give it up and probably why teams have been even more about making them give it up.
