Summer league thread
Re: Summer league thread
Watching the Wolves against GS right now. Again, no one on this Wolves squad to get excited about. The the two guys that seem to be standing out as the summer league progresses are Costello and Cook. I like the way they hustle and they both have good size for their positions as well as some talent. I'm still intrigued by Deonte Burton. He hasn't gotten any PT yet tonight.

I loved Jordan Bell as a prospect. Too bad Thibs didn't hold out for the #38 pick as part of the Butler deal. Knowing now that the Bulls sold that pick for cash, it would seem we could have gotten that pick if we had insisted.

Well, I see Jordan Bell is wreaking havoc all over the place. 6 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, 4 blocks, and a +10....in 12 minutes!
Dammit, Thibs should have shelled out money for that pick or held out for it in the trade for Butler. I can't believe he wasn't all over this kid, as he is the epitome of a Thibs-like player.

To be fair to thibs. Glen a guy who traditionally sold picks and now he is the one who needs to buy the pick.
There was probably a guy on the Bulls board they wanted so they wanted to keep the pick and after that player was gone they wanted to sell the pick (still dumb for a rebuilding team).
Also the Bulls got destroyed by fans and the media. How would it look if they sold a pick to thibs.
With all that said I would of loved to have bell

If you're watching the Wolves now you've probably noticed we're much better with Costello and Cook on the floor.
Re: Summer league thread
Who would've thunk our no-name summer league team would have such an exciting game. Wiggins courtside. Thibs smiling.

Not that shocking, the wolves don't need to highlight anyone because none are on the roster. Also it is a team of seniors and older who have played in big games.

Ryan Saunders is a damn good coach. Love that play he designed to tie the game up.
That being said, and one reason I think Saunders is doing a great job......there isn't a single NBA player among our bunch of guys that played. Costello and Paige are nice, smart players, but no way should either be on our roster. I'm not seeing any diamonds in the rough here, sorry guys.

I had a friend record the game because I was watching the new Spider-Man movie. It was pretty good. Anyway I don't know when I will get to watch this game so thanks for the reports.
Q did Costello keep playing defense like he has the previous couple games staying verticle? Dude is putting up some serious numbers I think he could be a decent bench big even in this new NBA. He feels like a possible cheaper version of Aldrich and there is a chance he can actually develop a 3 point shot.
VJ and Burton I think we're the guys on this roster that we're touted the highest and...they have done very little espcially VJ. Cooke looks much more interesting and Costello for sure. Paige could be a nice enough guy to have on the D-league I cant decide if ai feel like he really has potential. I'd lean towards not but I'm interested to watch all the games and see.
It really is impressive that the Wolves are competing against these teams with likely nobody that will on an NBA roster. How long will we be able to keep Ryannarpund before some team decides to try and pluck him away? Ok maybe it's a while yet but the interviews he has done this year he looks more comfortable than before less stuff and just seems more like he belongs. He has always come off as a smart guy but not really a spotlight type. A couple people including Jon K said he is a grinder like Thibs so he is a down to business basketball guy. It's good to see he is still around through all this.
