For any of those guys, don't we need to dump Aldrich because they all make more than the exception (not sure if you can absorb a guy into the exception anyway). Could we use the stretch provision on Aldrich?
I love Avery Bradley and he'd be an awesome fit for us. If we did somehow manage to get Bradley, we'd have to extend him because otherwise he becomes a UFA next offseason. That would make it almost impossible to extend Wiggins as well for next year, right? Unless we found a way to trade Teague? Or unless Glen was willing to go into the luxury tax, which I'd totally be willing to do if I were a billionaire and we were getting Avery freaking Bradley! I love that guy!
The dude who makes much more sense contract-wise is Crowder. First, Boston is much more likely to move him. Second, he's only making 7 million per year for the next 3 years. That's a great deal for him. And I don't really think Crowder is THAT redundant. He can defend the 2, 3, and 4, he's about a league average 3 point shooter and could actually be better (shot nearly 40% last year), and he can handle the ball and pass it pretty well. You could plug him in as a backup at the 3 or 4 and just always make sure to keep either Wiggins or Butler on the floor at the 2 next to him.
Stretch Aldrich, trade OKC's first to Boston for Crowder, then sign a guy like Terry, Afflalo, or even CJ Miles with the exception and we've got a hell of a team next year and without putting ourselves into a horrible cap situation, which is what Bradley could do. That's a pretty good, solid team, not just at the top.
Teague/Tyus
Wiggins/Afflalo
Butler/Crowder
Gibson/Bjelica
Towns/Gorgui
