Not a earth shaking move but interesting on a few fronts

1. As if it wasn't clear already, Greg Monroe is not coming back to the Pistons. For all the smoke the SVG was blowing about keeping Monroe as a top priority for the Pistons I think that this move signals he's gone. Monroe was never a great fit next to Drummond (since Andre can't shoot a lick he sits in the post where Monroe operates way better turning Monroe into a mid-range guy) especially in SVG's system where he likes to use outside shooting and a lone big man in the paint. This makes Ersan a really solid fit in Detroit. Ersan is a interesting player, he can shoot three's and rebounds well but gets injured often and loses his shooting touch for long stretches. His best year came with Brandon Jennings as PG where he would benefit from pick and pops and spotting up off of PnR's with Sanders. Teaming up BJ and Ersan with another athletic big man like Drummond may recreate his most effective year. SVG is hoping Ersan will turn into another Ryan Anderson with Drummond being his Dwight Howard but I think that the Pistons version won't be as effective as the Magic version. Ersan is going to be payed about $7.5 mil this coming season with a team option for $8 mil next so they are basically replacing Monroe for half the money that Monroe will eventually be paid and it's a better fit. I give the Pistons a B for this trade because they are replacing Monroe with a better fit and are bascially turning Butlers salary into Ersan.

2. The Bucks are getting some serious cap space with this move as Butler will likely be waived as his contract is not guaranteed. With all the rookie deals that MIL has (MCW, Parker, Henson, Giannis, Ennis) and relativly few overays (Mayo, Zaza, I'm going to put Khris Middleton here too because that guy is about to get PAID) Milwaulke could add a couple decent players or maybe even one really good player (Wes Matthews or even say, Greg Monroe). Plus what does this mean for the Bucks in the draft (Kaminsky, Lyles, Portis, Looney) adding a big man to their core without having to worry about giving minutes to Ersan would be huge. Bucks get an A+ because they are able to replace their inefficent, minutes eatting big with potentially a better fit younger PF - or - a better role player/starter.

2. a. Caron Butler is coming home, again! The Racine, WI native is coming for his second stint in the Badger State although this one will probably last shorter than the previous one which resulted in a buyout as the Bucks went on to record the worst record in the NBA in 2013-14.

3. The Pistons are still one of the most interesting front offices to observe. Man, SVG has a knack for doing some of the most ballsy IDGAF things, signing Meeks to and $8 million dollar multi-year contract, streching Smith and his albatross contract, and now effectivley saying to the league Monroe is out before the Finals are even over. I would love/hate to be a Pistons fan because SVG is always doing something interesting but also doing things that don't make a ton of sense.

4. I can't wait until the NBA draft. Only two more weeks! I really need more trades to happen and for the Finals to go 7 games so I can keep myself from going insane, I mean I just spent 20 minutes righting up my thoughts from a move that will barely register once next season begins. Two more weeks, two more weeks, two more weeks.

I don't like Matt Barnes, but I thought he was pretty effective for the Clippers. Interesting move, indeed!

Nobody likes Barnes. Lol He can be an effective player though.

Lance is a heck of a talent and his contract really isn't that much money if you get him playing well again. He makes a lot of sense for the Clippers and they really don't give up anything that valuable. Doc and a vet team may be a good place for Lance to turn it around.

Hawes outside shooting fits with Al I guess and Barnes gives them a wing that plays tough and might hit some 3's and is an expiring. Lol

Next trade up? Martin for Calderon.

Draft Towns, sign Bjelica, re-sign Neal and KG, and bring in a 3rd PG (either LoBrown or via the draft).

Then let everyone fight for spots in the rotation, and let the season begin!

Martin for Calderon? On what planet would that deal make sense?

Give Timmy a break he has been on vacay. lol

Tim based on the way Flip has talked about Martin the past few weeks he isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I think Flip even said on the last Funkadelic that Martin sees staying with a team in a reduced role down the road as a good thing to extend his career. Don't quote me on that though it was a couple weeks ago.
