Re: It is Prince
I'm ok with this move, providing Flip is looking at it like I am. I think he is looking at Prince as a better 15th man option than Rudez, and if so, getting a guy like this who is willing to be the 3rd option at SF for the vet minimum is a good thing. I don't think we have to worry about Flip having Prince take away minutes from either Wiggins or Shabazz. Instead, Flip doesn't want to find himself in the position he was in last year...having to play guys who didn't belong in the league after incurring so many injuries. Prince's best days are far behind him, but he's a good insurance policy at SF if either Wiggins or Bazz get hurt. I expect him to be in a coat and tie most nights, but as another vet with a good pedigree, he also can provide some value during pre-season. Decent if not earth-shattering move.
Re: It is Prince
How long now have the Wolves been in the tank? I may not agree with all of Flip's moves, but there can be no doubt he wants to win, and win now!

The vets are vital in the development of the kids. Prince and KAT can talk about how great UK is / was and these vets will provide the mental side of things, how to go about your biz, how to act on and off the court, and instill confidence and toughness.
Re: It is Prince
I like this signing. Prince, like miller can still play in a reserve role. I dont see him getting regular rotation minutes ahead of wiggins, bazz, martin and lavine but he can step in if an injury happens.
I like that we got vets that play the same position to mentor our top 3 guys. We have kg for towns. Miller for rubio and now prince for wiggins. Lavine, dieng, jones and bazz will benefit from these vets as well.

Having three quality vets to mentor our young roster is a smart move. Having guys that have been there and can show the young guys how it's done is super beneficial.
Re: It is Prince
Good signing for the vet min. Can play a role and will help our young guys, especially Wiggins.

Re: It is Prince
Been on vacation.
For what they are, I like both the Miller and Prince signings. This probably means that LoBrow (who I liked) and Bennett or another big are gone. I can understand wanting to hold onto Bennett, but given our roster, there just aren't minutes to really develop a guy like him. I can see the wisdom of having a vet who doesn't need the minutes and won't eat up cap space in the future. Flip is basically saying he's got the guys he is willing to spend minutes to develop, and Bennet probably isn't one of them. These guys make more sense when the roster sizes go up to 15. I'll miss LoBrow, but we drafted Jones, so Flip's gambling on him. And Bennett might develop in the D League, but we might as well trade him now rather than later because we're probably not going to resign him anyway.
These new guys are like KG, they won't demand many minutes, but they should be solid with the minutes they get and they're the sort of guys who can help establish a better, more competitive team culture. Miller's been to the playoffs most of his career. Same with KG and Prince, both of whom have also won championships. They're serious guys who know how to play the game. Miller's capable of stepping in if we have an injury, and can also act as a kind of coach for Jones. Prince may be a pretty solid contributor if called on, though hopefully we won't need to rely on him minutes as much as mentorship. And KG is KG. I get a sense that Towns is a little goofy sometimes, Wiggins needs to develop a more consistent sense of urgency, and LaVine could use a little leadership to go with his swag. These vets can help in all those areas. These guys are like player/coaches in a sense. When you can have up to 15 players, and your roster is otherwise very young and could use some role models, these are three pretty good guys to have around from what I can tell.

Re: It is Prince
I don't know, Drew. The Prince signing would seem to help secure Bennett on the roster since we did not add a PF/C type player. Assuming LoBrown is waived during training camp, that would leave us with 15 players. Teams frequently only carry 14 players, but with the Wolves having a number of "fragile" players, I will not be surprised to see them carry 15 players into the regular season.
I do like Flip's recent tweet:

kG. Andre and Tay not only experience but Kg and Tay All League Defense. Defensive Culture for Pups to see.

Re: It is Prince
After thinking about this Prince signing more and what it could mean for Bennett and Rudez here are a couple thoughts.
Flip basically has the roster split into 2 categories.
1. Guys that are young/potential. Bjelica is 27 but is a potential guy but you would hope he can give you something.
2. Vets you know what you will get out of them when they are on the court. Pek, Martin, Miller, KG and Prince.
Bennett fits into the first category but he is also a total wildcard if he is on the court. It seems clear Flip is looking to win some games but I think it's obvious he wants to develop young guys too. Bennett fits the potential/vet categories.
Rudez sort of falls into the 2nd category of a vet who you probably know what you are gonna get with him. He was a contributor last year on a team that finished strong and he shot the 3 well for yeas in Europe and it sounds like last year he was solid when he played minutes. He has pretty limited potential obviously.
So really it comes down to who Flip thinks can play or who will take a guy off the Wolves hands. It looks like the Wolves could also just cut either before the season starts without paying them anything beyond this year. Rudez is the easy guy to move because he can shoot is cheap and a team can either let him go after this year or hold onto him with a cheap option. Tomorrow is the day their salaries an be combined in a trade. :) right now I would give Bennett the leg up on sticking around as Tim said. We are a couple big man injuries from playing a wing at PF a decent chunk of minutes if we move Bennett without adding another big. Playing some small ball might be alright but it would be nice to have a little depth with a young guy like Bennett who could show more while playing for team Canada coming up soon.

Re: It is Prince
I am good with the signing. I doubt he has anything left in the tank as a player, but will be a good mentor. One thing these moves do also is make Martin easier to trade if we want to go young and not worry about not having enough veterans around. In a perfect world LaVine, Wiggins, and Shabazz each take a big step forward this year and Martin can be traded for another building block.
