Also, Sam Mitchell said they are looking at bringing in another player with NBA experience that could then come to camp next fall. Who that will be is unknown to me. We chose Greg Smith out of no where. Watch us bring Lorenzo Brown back.

I like Zach Harper's quote in that article. Actually, Beasley sort of fits the general make-up of that squad. Houston seems to have a tendency to land talented, but sloppy players. And I mean sloppy in the context of either on and/or off the court. Lawson is an alcoholic, Howard is a flake, Harden doesn't like defense and dates a Karshadian, Brewer plays out of control, etc. etc.

Not surprised but Houston...yeah I guess that fits their new deal. Wasn't Houston's old plan to find random dudes that were solid nobody knew about and turn them into good players? Now it seems like it's all about collecting dumpster fire type players.

Also Beas can play but it's a question mark of he will actually benefit your team or not.

Good that beasley is back in the league. The guy is more talented than most bench guys in the league.

Bickerstaff was an assistant here during Beasley's time with the wolves. So there's a connection.

Won't happen. LoBro is on the Suns roster.

http://upsidemotor.com/2015/11/24/nba-d-league-vince-hunter-perry-jones-jp-tokoto/D-League Rewind: Vince Hunter makes a name for himself early on

"He can't do the UTEP Two Step but, man, can Vince Hunter rebound. Hunter is a 6-8 forward playing for the Reno Bighorns, and he's my early season crush. The guy plays with an incredible motor, rebounds with ferocity and has shown a nice array of moves on offense; both in the post and as a face-up forward. There's a lot to be giddy about with Hunter because all of his skills translate to the NBA. He isn't feasting on the league with just his athleticism. It's all hard work.

All that hard work has led to gaudy averages of 23 points and 16 rebounds while shooting 53 percent from the field to begin the season. He posted a monster line of 32 points and 24 rebounds against the D-Fenders that just blew me away.

Hunter is listed at a slender 205 pounds, which is very light for a power forward in the NBA. He projects as a tweener forward, sort of like Paul Millsap. Obviously Millsap is very skilled, but coming out of college he was an energy guy who rebounded the basketball at a high rate. I see a lot of crossover with Hunter so far.

Hunter definitely needs to put on some weight if he hopes to bang down low in The Association one day, but for now his frame allows him to play on the wing and shut down opposing forward. He's certainly one to watch as the season progresses."

They signed him to a couple 10-day contracts, and when the contract expired they chose not to bring him back. He just played for the Grand Rapids a day or two ago. With Minnesota's familiarity with him, and the need for another guard on the roster, I could see him being called here.

So if Sam is talking about a vet that they plan on bringing to camp next fall, might that indicate that Sam will also be back in the fall?

As far as Beasley goes, we all know he's got ability to score. I remember him going off against the Kings and followed that with another killer game against the Knicks on the same night K-Love went 31/31. The problems with Beasley were always shot selection, commitment on defense, and staying out of trouble. He's the type of guy that could flash with a big game at the right time, but I'd be more likely to bet that he finds a another run in with the law in Houston.

I'm not sure if there is anything to read into Sam's comment. It's a young developing team what do you expect them to say? "Well we are bringing in this dude so we have a warm body in case we need to play them and also so we can actually practice. We really don't care what happens with them beyond that." Lol what Sam is saying (other than him wanting someone with some experience) is exactly what all of us want correct?
