If we get rid of two guards, we absolutely need to replace one of them.

With one open roster spot Milt gets his chance to shine. If he could bring in a player that actually looks like they can play it would be good for his resume. fwiw word was Rado was Milt's guy last year...that didn't work out well but after watching him on the national team this summer I can see what Milt and other teams saw when they brought him in.

Unfortunately the guys who I think might be diamonds in the rough in the D-League are forwards, not guards. I don't think any of the D-League guards are as good as prospects as Lo Brown who is now signed. DeAndre Liggins and Vander Blue might be the next best options.

If we're gonna gamble on a guy, I'd roll the dice on Erick Green to see if he sticks. He hasn't with the Nuggets or Jazz to this point, but I liked him coming out of the draft as a potential 2nd round steal. I'd take a flier.

Well someone must have called somebody. Lol To me the bottom line is Martin has to give up that option year if he wants out.

Edit: After reading on another forum maybe Martin can't actually waive that last year at this point. If he wants out I am sure they will figure something out. The Wolves can't want him to stay that badly and they have tried to let vets move on if they desire.

Nice to know Milt couldn't even squeak out some meaningless second round picks for Miller and Martin knowing that buying them out was a serious option after the deadline. On to the next GM and coach.

They don't know our system and that's not something you just pick up and play well in 10 days. And then you're moving on to the next guy to see if he can do the impossible. Talk about unrealistic expectations. "Bring up everyone on 10 day deals and if they don't make it move on to the next one". You're not putting them in a position to succeed and actually stick on the roster. You're just jerking them around and messing up their lives by calling them up for even a month and then possibly telling them to go right back where they came from. There's a reason teams don't do it (notice the bad one's are hosting D-League tryouts either). It's because it's a dick move to jerk people around like that to try to find 1 diamond in the rough.

Our system sucks. If they come from a system that's better I hope they can teach Sam a thing or two

Milt clearly hasn't done anything to suggest he's the best we can come up with as our next PBO. I'm really tired of second tier front office and coaching staffs. So as you indicated, let the search begin!

Everything I read is Glen said there is no movement towards a buyout for Martin and basically seemed to value him. Honestly at this point especially with them having a spot open with Miller being bought out why not keep Martin for now? Dude can play and maybe he can be useful beyond this year.

Pretty much what I'm thinking too. I don't see the need to ax him right away.

Me too. Let's see if he even exercises his option. If not, he's gone and we don't owe him a dime beyond his remaining salary this season. If he does exercise his option, he could help us coming off the bench next season if we become a playoff contender. In the alternative, he could be a valuable trade chip next February as a veteran scorer for a contending team or as an expiring contract for a team trying to increase its cap space.

I don't get the point of buying out kmart. If he doesn't want to be here he could opt out at the end of the year. Also kmart screwed his trade value saying he would opt in to wherever he goes (rumored). So what is the point if buying him out, he is an above average 9th-12th man. Why let him walk for nothing, he will we be an expiring next year what has more value. I will be pissed of he is bought out because he still could have some value in the terms of basketball or trade value (I am not saying he is a huge piece)
