But I don't know if I know why. Can you explain? There are tons of candidates out there, relatively speaking. What are some of your preferred choices? Why?

Certainly can't be thoughts based on track record....because his track record is fantastic from a W-L perspective. Maybe we think this team doesn't need to vastly improve defensively? Meh, I doubt that's it.

Oh, it's the "he works guys too hard", right? We have a stable full of very young athletes. We have all wanted/wished for a shorter bench and more minutes for the studs. Man, he seems the absolute perfect candidate for a young team that struggles defensively. This team has a lot of potential on that end given the athletes, but they don't play well individually or as a team. He certainly is my pick moving forward.

Remember, coaches can be replaced down the line if needed. For right now, Thibs seems like he would offer the exact types of training for these young players that they need to improve all over the court. And hopefully, he would be the long-term answer. Sure seems to fit the bill to me.

It's no so much that I hate Thibodeau, as much as I hate his style for this team and this group of athletes. Here are the names I've floated multiple times:

Sam Cassell, Shaka Smart, Tyronn Lue, Alex Jensen, Jim Boylen, Bill Self, Kevin Ollie

Lue has been taken of course, but I think the rest of the guys can all coach a fast paced, high pressure style that I think we need for this group.

That's always a concern. But didn't seem to hinder Brad Stevens in Boston. Only Self and Smart don't have any NBA experience as a coach or player.

I think Thibs should be in the mix, but my question is how will he adapt to the players? It appears to me that this team needs to play with pace - not SSOL gimmicky pace, but above average pace. We simply don't have the physicality to play a grind-it-out game of trench warfare. Can he combine his famed defensive acumen with an uptempo offense?
