I'm not sure if they will really try to make that play-off push. They are already 4.5 games behind Utah and Portland, which both of have been playing very well lately. So it seems that it will very unlikely that they could make to playoffs even if they will get marginally better with trade. And if Sacramento misses playoffs but won't get top10 pick, they will lose that pick to Chicago (most likely outcome if they don't tank). So I think it would make sense for them to start tanking. Which is easy, sit Cousins little bit and trade useful veterans for future assets. But since they are Sacramento, it might be impossible to follow any logic behind their moves.

I would love to have him. I am not sure how much you would have to give up to get him. The Payne/Martin trade would be great. I am not sure if I would rather have him or Shabazz. I would
be curious about his background and how he might fit in the locker room.

Here is his original Draft Express video

I don't understand why the Martin/Payne platter has so much value.

If one of the worst teams in the league wants to jettison those two guys... why would better teams be the ones wanting them?

[Note: I understand where Martin has SOME value somewhere. But Payne has entirely different contradictory value. One is a vet probably on his last legs in a down year... and the other is a young guy who hasn't shown he's going to pan out.]

RW reports that The Timberwolves have had discussions with the Kings about acquiring Ben McLemore, according to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN.

So do we readdress this in the offseason or look for a solution in FA? I wonder what Orlando is going to do with Fournier. They just have so many wings. Would you trade the 1st for any of them? I know Flip was in love with Oladipo, but not sure he is panning out as good as he would have hoped.

No. An early first in the coming draft is a very valuable asset to have. Getting talent on a rookie scale and controlling their rights for many years is very valuable. The nice thing about having most of our talent on rookie deals and Rubio on a cheap deal is that we'll have a ton of cap space to sign the right complimentary players in free agency. I don't want to give that up.

TR - I agree with you, but think you look at all your options. I think that is the least likely senario. I wouldn't mind throwing good money at Fournier as a RFA to see what the Magic do.

Absolutely would try to sign Fournier, but he shouldn't cost us our draft pick. He's restricted so Orlando can match. I'd go hard after the unrestricted guys like Batum and Horford. I also think we should look at other unrestricted FAs like Pau Gasol, Brandon Jennings, Courtney Lee, Marvin Williams, Mario Chalmers, OJ Mayo, Ian Mahinmi, Luol Deng, Teletovic,Joakim Noah and Evan Turner. You can add Afflalo and Lin if they waive their options. There are some restricted guys who interest me in addition to Fournier (Ezeli, Barnes, Clarkson)--but the problem there is that we have to either massively overpay for them or work out a deal with their team.

I wonder if you throw a 2 year max at some of the RFA you could get the teams to let them walk.

Sure, but none of the RFAs are worthy of anywhere close to max money and you would probably create problems with the other players by doing so. Horford and Conley are worth max money and maybe Batum but with Gasol or Noah I'd want to get a significant old age discount on. If other teams get crazy with their money, let them tap it out and go aggressive the following off seasons when there is less competition for free agents.
