Varejao's been the better player over the course of their careers and you'd hope to get a player's best in the playoffs. That's probably part of why they made the move. The other part is he's very familiar with Cleveland, who will almost certainly be representing the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.

Yep Varejao has had the better career but he put up his best numbers for a woeful lebronless Cleveland team. Then he suffered from deep bone thrombosis which threatened his life and when he returned he soon ruptured his Achilles' tendon. Hasn't really ever bounced back and couldn't crack the rotation in Cleveland.

Well with Andrew Miller getting a buyout, there is room for JT now, or someone else.

Apparently, the Wolves are exploring a Martin buyout now too. Not sure anything gets done, though. I still don't see the benefit of it right now.

Letting JT go also saved the Warriors a bunch of money which is pretty significant.

Everything I read is Glen said there is no movement towards a buyout for Martin and basically seemed to value him. Honestly at this point especially with them having a spot open with Miller being bought out why not keep Martin for now? Dude can play and maybe he can be useful beyond this year.

Ehh, I don't know how much money played into this. Thompson had $2.65MM guaranteed for 2016/17, but the Warriors can stretch $883,333 over the next three seasons.

Pretty much what I'm thinking too. I don't see the need to ax him right away.

Ok so I guess it depends on how you define a bunch of money but they are also Lux tax payers so it adds up. One article said they were considering stretching JT next season anyway. Idk but EVERY team seems to like and save money. Lol

If both KMart and Miller go elsewhere, we got two spots to fill. I hope at least one of those spots goes to Putney, Hunter or Ashley.
